Hope he does well tbh. But Sturridge is a better player. I would of stuck with him. Lukaku is not the fittest and that will get harder as he ages(much like rooney) and £28 million is a risk. Good deal for both clubs.
I think both players are great! Lukaku is a different type of player to Sturridge - he's big, strong and direct. Sturridge has pace, technical ability and flare. They would've complimented each other or Lukaku could've been a plan be. With a minimum of 15 goals per season for the last 2 years, he would've been a great signing and his stock would've gone up.
All I'm saying is, I don't agree with the flack he seems to be getting and Everton have done well getting him permanently!
Good business for both teams. Everton get a striker to lead their line and who they already know will perform for them.
Chelsea get £28m for a player who has basically done nothing at the club.
Win win
Whose giving him flack? i dont think anyone should be right now, just wait to pass judgement. But As a lot of chelsea fans are writing him off as a terrible player(he has his pros and cons) a lot of opoo fans are saying how good he is. He still has a lot to prove and tbh whenever i seen him live hes looked an absolute donkey
He's the kind of player who will have really bad games because of his clumsy technique but bottom line is he is an out and out goalscorer.
He will learn how to use his body even better as he gets older and be a right bulldozer who will be near impossible to stop on his day.
The problem for Everton will be holding on to him because it will only take one great season and all the big clubs will be looking and I don't think he is the type to hang around.
I agree righteous1,he doesn't strike me as the loyal type. I hope the bigger clubs do take an interest, because if they don't,it means Lukaku hasn't been doing hid job properly.

Think he is a player who needs to feel wanted, Sturridge was maybe the same. Show some faith in players and their talent and reap the rewards.
Bobby has shown how he can use the system to get the best out of his players by using them/a system that uses their strengths and takes away them playing to a weakness.
How many times did we see Mirallas as teh forward when defending, because he is not that great defensively and his pace can hurt teams.
Or Barkley not coming back into the defnesive 18 yard box, as his decision making in this area of the pitch needs work.
Players who can win games/score goals will always move on to the top clubs. Ronaldo, Bale, Suarez. If rom moves on in 2-3 years then Everton must be doing well as he has attracted interest from the big clubs.
Congratulations Everton. Chelsea have made a massive mistake, Lukaku is going to be an absolute beast for you. I think he can only improve on his record from last season, after a couple of years on loan now playing the same squad should benefit him massively.
Fair play and good luck for the season
Arouna - absolutely right. If he does want to move in a few years, you will make a tidy profit and can re-invest. Martinez' appointment seems to be the start of a new era for you guys.
Delighted with this deal. Lukaku is the next Drogba (hopefully without the diving!). In 3-4 years, as he comes to his best, he'll be knocking in 25+ per season and leading the line (back-to-goal play will improve).
If I were RM, I'd be in for Jack Rodwell on a loan or permanent basis. Don't forget, he's still young enough to have a career in the PL and not warming a mancunian bench.
We don't need Rodwell, we already have Gibson Barry McCarthy besic and youngsters like Ledson lundstum not to mention Martinez hinting at baines dining a Lahm
I would have liked Spurs to go for him, however my only reservation would be his loyalty & desire.
As pointed out earlier if he has another good season at Everton, then the big boys will be in for him.
Would he jump ship then? Unfortunately I think the answer is yes.
However a great signing for you guys & I hope it pays off.

Rodwell has gone, we have a wealth of options at LB and lots of cracking U21's to push through this season.
Would like to see Long and Lukaku have a Europa game together.
Gibson and Kone to return........with ooooooh Brian Oviedo!!
Plus others looking likely
If he goes on to play for the for 10 years the £28m will be a snip, they have made some very good singings recently, extending Coleman and Barkleys contracts included.
