Wonder whether Falque has had a bit of the Gio treatment in terms of his Spurs development.

"it does make you wonder doesn't it?"

If we had stats like '8 out of 10 cats won't make it as a PL senior' , then you wouldn't question it so much. But like the Spurs physio injury lists, there is the feeling that we are doing something fundamentally wrong.

On the development side, we have had Walker/Livermore/Naughton/Caulker/Rose/Townsend appear in the PL seniors over about 3 seasons. Regardless of what we think of them, that is a much better throughput rate than seen for many years IMHO.

"the silver lining is, I can see the majority of our youngsters being good enough to start for lower placed prem teams... but is that the reason they are much lower placed than ourselves? because they can't attract bigger players so have to settle for largely inexperienced younger players? trying to give them gametime to improve them?"

And because the moment they have any decent talent who will make their clubs progress in the league, they get raided.

"What's your opinion on giving youngsters a go rather than buying a ready made starter?"

I would like to see as many non-loaned academy players that the coaching staff deem ready to have a go, to play according to the managers' assessment of the ability/risk of the opposition.

And not wait til <standard> injury plagues to use them as a last resort. If some of them progress sufficiently, then you don't have to buy.

What infuriated me with AVB in the Europa last season was that even with fate giving us such easy pre KO stage opponents, he did not use the opportunity those 8 games offered for academy development.

This season we have 10 such potential games.
I hope Pochettino will use them wisely.

If he did it at 1pm today I could have witnessed this major event myself.

How come? Work experience?

Im not sure who it was on here (LLM the oracle?), but they mentioned Falque's fitness and recurring injuries.

Also something about him going abroad for warmer climate recovery - could be a factor as to why he's leaving.

"How come? Work experience?"

Weekly grocery shopping. Which might be the same thing.
