1st place, nothing less, been too long since we won the last league.

Expectations is a tough one as I feel that one or two injuries to our defence could spell disaster for us. However, being optimistic 1st or 2nd finish as long as it goes to the wire.

We could have a good run in the Champions League (semi finals minimum). I would love us to win that again, mainly to annoy all the gooners.

FA CUP semi's , it's such a lottery.

I think you'll win the league as long as Costa fires... obviously hoping he doesn't

I honestly think if you dont it could and should be considered a bad season. Saw a graphic on twitter of two 11's you could field and it was frightening!

It's been a long time because we haven't been good enough to win it and if anything we've been regressing as a PL force.

Jose was brought in to steady the ship and stop the rot (which he definitely did last season) and then improves us with a view to winning the title again which I have every confidence he will do if given sufficient time.

I think we’ll be Champions come May, we’ve got a very strong first team and good options on the bench. My only slight concern is that our defence is in a slight transition, if Terry can stay fit we’ll be fine but he’s such a rock and the glue that keeps our defence a unit. I’m eager to see how Zouma does in his first season but we also have Brana who is ideal.

I think we will win it. Partly because our squad is stronger, should have adapted well from last year, and Mourinho now has no excuses. And partly because I don't believe Pellergini and this City squad can win back to back titles. Also think Yaya will not be the force he was last year, a year older and the owners blocked him from seeing his brother. If I was him I'll give very little effort.

I am not too fussed with our finish (as long as it is reasonable 1st-3rd) as long as we start to play better football more constantly. The last few seasons imo have been terrible for the quality of football we have played.

My expectations for our club ,are for stability ,continuity and a togetherness and strength ,which comes with an understanding from the higher echelons at the club, that constant, changes of manager, are detrimental to these aims. This year I expect to win the League, the C L,and at least one of the cups ,and why not indeed ?

Proper full on title challenge, no more bottling it against relegation threatened teams, 1st or 2nd. This squad is stronger than last season, no more "little horse" excuses.

Football that doesn't bore me to sleep

another 8-10 points on top of what we got last year, if someone gets more than that good luck to them.

You cant say its the title or nothing, what happens if Man c get over 100 points?

CL 1/4 finals then its all down to the draw.

League cup (or whatever its now called) meh.

FA Cup I miss winning it, what has it been 2 years?

Proper title push and C/L 1/4 would be great.

maybe a cup final too

Improvement in our quality of play, player development.

I aspect us to compete to the best of our ability in every match we play, no slacking.

Top 2 EPL finish, min semi final C/L, final of the FA or League cup.

1 trophy is a must.

Tough ask, but the club have ability to get the squad right, there should be no excuses.

KTBFFH, carefree.

COME ON YOU BLUES!!!

I love Mourinho but if we don't win one of the PL/CL next season he will be sacked and rightly so.

Eh ??!! Why rightly so ??

Nobody is guaranteed to win anything this season, certainly not us.

We have a good squad but certainly not the best squad in the PL and definitely not the best in the CL.

I'm looking forward to the players snazzy footwear.
Especially different colours on separate feet

Cl semi ( win pos) pl challenge ( this could go down to the very last games of the season again with four teams in contention) at least one cup .... And some more decisive / fluent play . ( no more frustrating /capitulation against teams at the bottom of the league in games we cannot afford to loose)

Yup pretty much how I see it as well.

Unpredictability, should definitely be on the agenda.

Last season..too predicatable and not direct enough in build up approach, gives opposition time to settle and regroup.
Fabregas should change that with his quick thinking split second threaded/incisive passes between the lines.
Too easy for the opposition to work out where our passes were going to be played, in the previous campaign(need to catch them out).

*predictable

AM's have to stop diddle-daddling when they receive the ball in the final third, with the opposition caught out of shape.

posted on 8/8/14

Having a striker with presence in the box will help with that.

We had one CF, who made great movement into the channels ahead of the opposition to be never found by the AM's...

I'll show you some brief frames, which illustrates my point.

Let's start with Willian(in the perfect position to release the CF):

Situations like this is where Willian must improve,
Had ample time to release the ball to Eto'o.
Has to be aware that the CF has got the run on the out of shape Newcastle, as it turned out played the pass to Eden on the right, space diminished and chance was wasted(Newcastle got back into shape/regrouped).

Eden, this time against City...

If he plays the pass, CF through on goal(with Kompany's body posture all wrong and Nastastic caught square). Didn't happen, missed opportunity.
Split second moments, that we must capitalise on(especially as were not a clinical team).

Instead decided to dribble with the ball and diddle-daddle.

Driven ball into the box at this moment and the CF is on to it and scores, given that he has the run on Zab.

Two opportunities here to play the CF in, there ^

or

after he dribbled past Nastasic, could have played a reverse pass into him...

----------------------------------------------------

Have many more...but that's just a few snippets, the standard from the AM's throughout.
Lacking the incision and vision at the crucial moments to kill off games in the last third.

People wonder why City score so many...
because they make sure, everything is spot on in build up for the CF's.
Movement, passing, retaining possession and decision making.

Not enough direct threaded balls feed into frontmen on the move.
