Btw, a lot of these are words or phrases and not technically clichés, just saying like.

My pet hate is when you hear players/pundits/managers/fans etc claiming their team gave 110%

Funnily enough it's actually a cliché that people dislike that cliché.

I don't mind it at all, it makes sense in football because of course you're going to reflect on the game at the end of the day, at the end of the day!

People who use football manager terminologies and try to sound clever, eg - anchor man, Trequestia, libero, ball playing cb, inside forward, playmaker.

Especially when they pin players down to certain positions and playing styles because of they are described on the game.

The absolute worst is when people say " the Bayern Munich's or Real Madrid's of this world "

Its just Bayern Munich or Real Madrid.

110% is facking stupid too, anyone who uses this needs to be shot.

"Period". When did first half, second half, become "period"? It's a British game, for god's sake.

Bloody Yankisms. Bloody commentators.

Spot on! I have no idea how this one caught on, it's exceptionally stupid.

When pundits say if a goal had been scored by a Brazilian, we'd all be talking about it for weeks.

Always sounds a bit bitter, when in fact it's actually the British players that we build up and over-rate.
