Cant wait to see how Coutinho plays this season I think he could have a blinder.
I've never seen a Liverpool player with such good agility, balance and acceleration.
---------
Really?
Coutinho is 3 years older, so it's difficult to compare the two.
At 22 and assuming no major injuries in the meantime, Sterling could be world class.
You never watched J Barnes then?

Coutinho lacks consistency but thats common for players around that age. Sterling is very exciting to see as an England fan but need more players coming up with him
Sterling.
He was our best player in the two final months of last season & he goes into this season having improved even more. At 19 years old if he keeps improving at this rate over the next three years then he could be the worlds best.
Coutinho has just as much natural talent. But to catch Sterling he needs to 1) consistently perform to his best ie dominate games with regularity and 2) drastically improve his chance conversion rate.
Both sublime players to watch. Exciting times
What we do have in both sterling coutinho and sturridge is at least the equal of any other team in the division.
Silva is my fav non liverpool player, a genius to watch but is he better than coutinho? Maybe more consistent at the moment but that will come with coutinho in time.
Striker wise i wouldnt swop studge for rooney giroud or costa and no way wouod i swop sterling, hazard is more along his development but i wouldnt swop him.
Those 3 Lfc players frighten the life out of any opposition in the prem..shame it isnt 4 players like last season.
This has to be a wum
Comparing him to iniesta and Ronaldo?
He's a good player but let's not put him on the level of two of the recent greats
Iniesta and ronaldo? You can compare in about 5-8yrs time on that one.
Im happy enough to say that maybe just maybe Liverpool have potentially 3 world class players.....we will know in about 3yrs.

Did you read the article or did you just scan through it and see the names Ronaldo and Iniesta? I'm guessing the latter.
Cout is a unique player in the Premiership, his close control and trickery is something I admired when he was at Milan. Out of the Liverpool players he reminds me most of Steve McManaman.
John Barnes was a player who could do the lot and reproduced his A game time after time (at club level) Cout needs to get that consistency to be considered world class. He also needs to get back into the Brazil lineup.
Sterling has improved beyond measure in one season, but he's in the same boat as Cout. We need a consistently good season from both of them this time around.
Not old enough to have seen Barnes play, wish i was though
If you didn't want to be seen as comparing him to those players, you shouldn't have named them, you should have named some lesser talents to avoid ridicule
Damn, some really deluded comments here.
Barnes=awesome EVERY game. In his prime you could easy argue he was the best in the world in his position. Right foot left foot passing dribbling freekicks speed he was AMAZING!
I truly dont see another winger today that was like barnes..not one.

And in a few years he may not, not difficult mate, he name checked those players for a reason, cousin ho is good we know, but don't get carried away
Liverpool fans who see Coutinho week in week out know just how vital he is to the style of play that we have. His pinpoint passing is something that very few players possess and that's why those kind of players are so sought after - the likes of Mata, Silva and Iniesta.
He is still very raw and needs a lot of work on his finishing and consistency but the potential is definitely there to become one of the very best playmakers in the league. Sterling is the same and unlike many pacey English wingers before him the footballing maturity shown at his age is remarkable. These two and Sturridge will definitely form the core of the attacking play for years to come.
Don't worry once they leave the club ( Hopefully when they retire) all the muppets on here will let us know that we've just lost world class players and won't be able to compete without them......
What a goddam stupid fookin question.
I think Coutinho might be the more naturally talented but I actually think Sterling will become be more effective and better player.
Coutinho has magic moments, Sterling is a constant threat.
"Silva is my fav non liverpool player, a genius to watch but is he better than coutinho? Maybe more consistent at the moment but that will come with coutinho in time."
Another example of this guy's insanity. If Coutinho was playing for another team you wouldn't pay any heed towards him.
Coutinho better than Silva. Haha
