I think what Nick meant to say is that Koscielny is a good defender but not the best defender ever to grace the game like some Arsenal fans make out..

So because I dont rate koscielny and believe cahill is a good defender, which he is, was fantastic last year(I went to most games...Or watched on MOTD...but I watched the evening show and morningshow...honest)

I can only judge football from what I see, through 20 years of going to games spending thousands of pounds doing so.
Koscielny when I have seen him is out of position, is quite quick which sometimes covers it, but is not strong enough, Usually goes missing in big games(no word of a lie that game at the emirates was a joke for a pro CB seeing as chelsea had no decent strikers last year)

Cahill(for the last 2-3 years anyway,cant judge him at bolton) has been a revelation for us, the last few years our defence has been the shakiest its ever been, other than maybe under scolari. He is quick, strong, good on the ball, reads the game well, is brave and(as someone mentioned) can do that back to the wall defending too. He was fantastic in the CL final a few years back and was good the season before last. But last year he really was faultless for a lot of the time.

He's actually a big game player, he's had great games against Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, Barca, Bayern etc. But you haven't watched him more than a couple of times, so you wouldn't know.

See. This is a description of somebody you watch regularly. Now when I look at the amount of detail you've for each player's description, it tells me something.

I haven't been directly responding to your post/questions because honestly, I don't understand half of the things you're saying.

I can go further into why I do not rate Koscielny, but the big games from previous years speak for themselves and his perfromances. Last year was better due to mertesacker coming in. lol barring his first season, in which he was also pretty decent, he has been outstanding for us. We don't defend well as a team, or hadn't been until last season, our defence doesn't get enough protection and we get caught in transition. Nothing to do with Koscielny.

Anyway, like I said, you don't know what you're talking about and regardless of what I say, you won't see the light.

Terry was a top top defender in his heyday. He's nowhere as good as he used to be. Even though he's still pretty useful now.

Regardless, the fact that you think Cahill is better than Koscielny speaks volumes for knowledge. The Englishman's a solid player. But Koscielny is the more capable defender. You'd know that if you knew what you were on about.

Terry is still probably the 3rd best CB in the league

Yeah. All the goals we shipped were all down to Koscielny. And all the goals we kept out was down to Mertesacker.

That's what I mean, he's one of those guys that just goes along with whatever the word on the street is, instead of actually watching players.
