Anyway, I have to say I'm delighted with the signing of Mata

Young has so far settled in straight away and done exactly what you'd expect. A good buy for United. In terms of immediate impact right from the off I'd say Young offers more, but IMO Mata is good enough to become a real star for us, like Silva as you said. as a footballer he's got so much more about him, whereas Young is good but you almost know what you'll get with him - a bit of a safe option for Fergie to solve the LW problem

Mata will rule the PL like our heroes as shevchenko and torres, also kezman

Mata is better than Young, that's obvious, more of a case of whether he'll be as good as Nani, both are at similar levels

Young has proven he is perfect for us and exactly what we needed. A left winger (okay right footed but he isnt afraid of using his left foot) and someone who is good at set pieces.

In Nani and Young, I feel we have 2 statistically best and most conssitent wingers in the Prem

Mata is an interesting player but hes not as intelligant as Silva. Just as good technically but he doesnt see them blind alleys like Silva does. Silva is world class, Mata is still potential

Give Mata a chance, because of fans like you players flop before they even kick the bladder

They need CMs, both creative (Lampard is past it now) and defensive (Essien ruled out ofr ages) centre midfielders so as long as they dont strengthen there, as a UNited fan, I couldnt care less who they buy up front

DM we have Romeu, Mikel and McEachran seems pretty good in that position. I think we are still looking to sign a CM. Hopefully not Modric as I think he is overated.

Lampard has never been a 'creative' playmaker but he scored goals from midfield so it was worth having him in the side. Well no way is he goign to get you 15+ a season anymore at 33 so hes pretty much useless.

Mata is good but dont compare him to Nani. Nani is a class act and is the best winger in the prem. Mata is good, better then young but not Nani!

Young has the most Premier League assists overall in the past 5 seasons second only, to Fabregas.

Mata has had 2/3 good seasons in an entirely different league.

We have got a defensive midfielder in Romeu while Modric and mcEachran can give Lampard competition. It wasn't just the goals otherwise Gibson would start all the time for you, Lampard also got 10-15 assists a season, that stopped 10-11 season. Maya is definateky needed due to Anelkalouda being rubbish when starting, he was more important than Modric IMO

Sorry Benzeguero, but Chelsea need to improve their frontline more than they need CM's....their tactics are basically 4-3-3 and in Essien, Mikel, Lampard, Romeu and Mcecheran I think their well covered in midfield for experience and attacking threat with defensive strong capabilities. Plus I still think Lampard puts in a good shift in midfield and brings invaluable PL experience whilst having a genuine passion to play for chelsea (something money can rarely buy).

When you consider that they have declining pace and limited creative intelligence however in their front 3 of Drogba, Torres, Anelka, its easy to see where a potential problem could be.

Add mata to that team and it adds a whole new dimension as there is no player in that chelsea squad with a similar playing style and creative capabilities to mata (maybe benayoun but he lacks pace and lets face it, isn't a scratch on mata).

Would Young get anywhere near the Spain side? We both know the answer to that. Mata doesn't even start for them regularly but he gets in the squad. Nara the past 3 seasons has also got the most assists other than Messi, Ronaldo and Dani Alves. He is also younger than Young and will improve. We both know that Mata is definately better than Young. Young is more comparable with Sturridge. It's who turns out to be better between Mata and Nani that I'm anticipating

To be a winger in PL you have to be fast (even if you have the skills). Mata isn't the fastest out there.

Meh. Neither is Silva, Downing or even Arshavin, or was Beckham. If he's good with the ball at his feet thats kore important. And he's hardly a slouch, better acceleration than Silva

Maya is definately faster than Downing and on par with Arshavin. Silva plays as an inside forward to the left but because of his free role he drifts wide alot (as well as drifting centre)
