why spend pre season doing this 3-4-2-1 malarky when we abandon it at the first sign of trouble

buy players to fit a system, or fit a system around the players you have

For me you are missing a real spine to your team. You have two quality strikers, however in midfield you are missing a commanding presence and in defence I don't there are any options who look good enough.

The passing today was terrible, I really thought Mata would relish playing behind two strikers as a number 10. However most of his passes were just sideways to young. Herrera looks like a decent signing, but I think you might need a couple of players to compliment him.

Truth be told, there is too many players at United who don't look good enough, and probably would not get into a starting 11 at any of the top 6 clubs. Nani, Young and Hernandez are such poor options to chose from.

There are so many average players in the squad it's unbelievable. Ever since the sale of Ronaldo, we just failed to add real quality in the team....bar a few. And now we paying the price. Doesn't matter who our manager is, this team would struggle to get into the top 4.

He made a superb sliding challenge on that montero. Didn't let routledge get past him all game and made a superb interception from gomis.

First half before the goal, commentary team picked up on it, jones clearly made a mistake timely him through but his touch was to heavy.

Jones made a couple good tackles but was a bit shakey throughout I felt, but so where most of the team. Smalling and Blackett seemed to have less to do but maybe that was because they positioned themselves better to take on attacks, although Smalling wasn't great on their second goal.

No player can really come out of that game thinking they did well, poor performance throughout.

Oh and I'm not defending the other two either, they were poor as well.
