If someone comes in with a decent offer, I wouldn't be against him leaving, he's still good to have for Cups and he won't complain about playing time.
Allen before Lucas for me any day. I can only think that Lucas was playing to be put in the shop window.

he won't complain about playing time.

Why wouldn't he?
He is 27, should be his peak years, and will still have hopes of getting back in the Brazil set up, especially under super boring Dunga.
No way would he be happy to just play the odd cup game.
he was really good in the first half, then faded badly.
at fault for the goal.
if he can play 90 mins like the first half, then we'll get good money for him and/or keep him for big/CL matches.
If not, then whoever bids anything first.
Started his LFC career poorly, then improved so much so that an injury meant we actually missed him being in the side. Now though, it's gone back to what he was like at the start. Time to move on? Probably.
I don't see where he fits in.
Allen, Gerrard and Henderson are better than him and we now also have Can who has looked decent in pre season.
I have no problem with him staying as long as he is ready to accept a bit part. What confused me today was that he started today. Allen gave us much more movement, energy and crisper passing when he came on. He must have picked him as he realised the game could turn into a midfield battle, but it was still a strange call imo.
It's funny that 18 months or so ago you would have been metaphorically hung for treason on this board for questioning Lucas ability.
As a dressing room character and a hard worker he may still have a part to play, but the team is evolving and Lucas looks an error prone pedestrian at times.

Only by a certain few, it became fashionable to over hype him, some describing him as the leagues best DM!
Wanyama showed what a great DM he is today with his strength and ability to dominate the midfield!
Lucas is a very good player but I've always felt he wouldn't fit into BR's system. He works excellently in a much more rigid system whereby he simple wins the ball back, from deep in his own half and moves it on. I don't feel he is able to do that for us and thus there is no point holding on to him.
lucas and gerrard can no longer play together as they both slow the game down too much
Well I'd keep Lucas to play as the holding player whenever Gerrard won't play which will be in quite a few games this season.

What makes you think Gerrard won't play in quite a few games this season?
I seem to remember you saying that in the beginning of last season too.
Watched MOTD2 last night and it was actually Gerrard who switched off for the goal, not Lucas
I was more surprised than disappointed when Lucas got the nod in front of Can. Can is clearly the future, he got stuck in in every game I've seen him play for us, and, he didn't give free kicks away in dangerous places, a hallmark of Lucas' play over the past two seasons.
