I wouldn't pay more than £30m for wants out of their club, especially when there isn't exactly a long list of suitors for him. However, we have only ourselves to blame in a situation like this.

He wouldn't be the difference between us securing a top 4 position and not so. We need at least 3-4 players, which I cannot see happening.

I remember the argument that Modric did not turn up in the big games in the prem and we needed someone better than him if we were looking for goals and assists as his goal and assist return in the prem was on par with Anderson.

Bale's game is all about pace though, that has not changed

Modric's job isn't to get assists. Check out his assist stats last season where he was alongside Di Maria and Ronaldo as Madrids best players.

Also I believe the season before he left he created the 3rd most chances in the PL.

That was always our argument SLM, as for the chances created argument, that is difficult to tie down as what is a chance created defined as? An opportunity to score a goal or an opportunity that a goal could potentially be scored.

The fact is, in the prem in the big games, Modric was hot garbage and my argument was, we need better than him or if we wanted to get him, not at the prices quoted

3 years ago Valencia was an absolute beast of a player for us. That's when he was being compared to bale. They were both similar in the way hey went past players

Valencia then took huge strides backwards and bale took huge strides forward

Really isn't any more complicated than that

I was under the opinion PSG would have to sell first, if they are to buy anyone else. Something to do with FFP.

Di Maria and Khedira together would cost you more than £60 million, especially as everyone knows Utd are desperate for some more top players.
