Great piece of news, and glad it is all sorted now, so he will remain a red!

We are set up very nicely now barring any injuries (we deserve some luck after last season), to have hopefully a great season

Glad we put this to bed. All to often in the past we have let players walk, granted a lot of them needed to. This guy however is different, pay him the money and let him get on with it. At long last looks like we are going in the right direction onwards and upwards.

Fantastic news. For me Lansbury is one of the best midfielders in this division.

Agree with you Webbo about the best 11. But what's just as promising is when you look at the quality on the bench.
It's night and day compared to what we had last year. Good times ahead me think!

I think Pearce made the difference in this one and Lansbury deserves it

Best squad we have had in years, trust me I can go back a few !

I don't blame Henri one bit for pushing for a new contract with him not being one of the better paid players at the club, especially after the Algerians. It's really pleasing that the situation has been sorted, hopefully he can sort out his fitness and be a real influence this season. I think this also proves once and for all that the rumour about his Mrs and another player is a total load of rubbish.

It's another little boost for the early part of the season.

I think now it would be good to trim more of the deadwood from the squad, such as Collins, Halford etc

...and Abdoun of course

Over the Moon he's decided to stay.

Agree with you Ray about getting rid of the deadwood now.

It's all shaping up nicely. There will be scope for a few loan signings if required too, I would've thought. Feeling good to be a Red Dog today. Let's rip up Reading tomorrow!

Fantastic news. We really need to keep hold of Hobbs too.

Agree with Webbo's 11. A midfield controlled by Vaughan, Lansbury and Reid is better than any other midfield I can think of in this league. Then attacking players like Burke, Fryatt and Britt is amazing. Just got to keep them fit. We look like we have some real quality on the bench this year, unlike last year when the back up was sub standard.

"We really need to keep hold of Hobbs too"

I can't see there being much danger there unless the club think that an offer is tempting. He has only signed half a year ago and has four years of his contract left. Reading also distanced themselves from the rumour

I Like the way Pearce goes for a win. 2 up front with pace out wide.

A defence that should be solid now and a midfield that other teams must envy

I wouldn't worry about the Hobbs story, that's just a bit of mischief from te Reading end before tomorrow's game. He would be valued at at least £2.5-3m at today's prices and Reading are in limbo with ownership problems. Fairly confident that he wouldn't go three even given the choice.

Always liked Lansbury and thought he'd make it at Arsenal so delighted he's doing well.
Hopefully I'll see more of him (and Forest) in the prem next year!

I love to be a training nowadays. I bet the place is buzzing. They all seem to get on with each other and with Pearce the honesty is there. They know where they stand, fit in and if they are a valuable team player.

With Eastick and Wigley backing the Manager I can only see things getting better
