Why do you dread it after last week? We won last week. City won last week also and the top two from last season are playing each other? What's to dread? Just look forward to what should be a great game and one we only need a draw to be happy with it. Anything else is a bonus.
I think we will probably lose, but just hope we learn a lot from it and quickly. Just hope our performance is a massive improvement from last sunday and we give City a game as we have over the last 4 or 5 meetings.
City do look very strong, but the Southampton win means we go into the game with a draw being a great result and not the end of the world if we lose. It's the toughest game on paper in the season so at least we get it out the way nice and early. We always give a City a game, beat them last time out and were very unfortunate not to get anything at the Etihad last year. Fingers crossed we get a bit more luck and a ref not from greater Manchester.
They've been tightly contested games recently, usually decided by a mistake or two, Skrtel pass back, Kompany miss clearance etc
We lost 2-1 at the Etihad last season where we played well enough and deserved a draw. So if we can get a draw it would be a great result and an improvement on last season to go with the 3 point improvement over Southampton at home.
It's just against Southampton we didn't get into our rhythm for me at all, it looked like we needed 5 games
I genuinely think we will win. City are slow starters and defensively they are not match fit, add in aguero aint match fit plus mangala wont play and i really do think we WILL win.
Now, im not saying it will be easy but i do think.our pace and defensive additions will ge enough...its my opinion and im saying 1-2

Difference is it was Southampton last week and they play a different way to city.
Way I look at it is we played Southampton last week, a game we lost last season and we won (improvement) Monday we play city who we also lost against last season and it's a game we can only improve upon!
I'd say if you asked both managers they'd probably say it's a bit too early for this game.
At least it's away from our point of view as not many teams will take anything from the Ethiad this year so if we loose it's not a big deal, as long as it's not an Arsenalesque hammering.
I'd expect a different line up to last weekend, especially in midfield, Allen to start ahead of Lucas, maybe Moreno comes in too.
Brendan will have the team full of confidence going into the game and will ensure we have a go, if we do and we loose no then so be it, I'd prefer to get beaten trying to win then sit in for 90 mins and probably loose anyway.
Our counter attack wil lcause them issues, hope Markovic gets the last 20 mins he could be dangerous v tiring legs late on.
We can beat city at the eihad..we did beat em in the cup. This is my belief right here......the disappointment of lazt season WILL count for so much this season...inc 3 points away to city.
I would favour City as they are at home, we are also trying to bed new players in and there is a little uncertainty as to what out best team is. But there's very little in it.
I think people are forgetting Mignolets mistake that led to their goal last season where he parried it above him into the next. We would have gone into the break on level terms then who knows what would have happened. Season before we were winning until Reina decides to do a 100m sprint out of goal which let Aguero score.
Despite the fixture on paper, we very rarely struggle as much as people suggest we should when we go to the Ethihad. I'm still yet to see us be dominated by City since Hodgson was sacked. It won't be easy, but I seem to be very positive going into this game compared to some
Chambers....we deserve a win there, its just seems right we can do it now. Strong squad, win under our belt and a belief from last season.

Exactly. We were extremely sluggish vs Saints due to the inclusion of Lucas and Johnson IMO. If we start Allen/Can with Moreno then we'll see signs of improvement. Plus Markovic is now available meaning we can offer something different if we do become stuck.
As for City, after their less than convincing win against Newcastle, they're now missing Mangala and a convincing parter for Kompany aswell as the possible absence of Aguero. This games a lot more balanced than people believe
Moreno Im betting will start, lucas wont...straight away we are stronger
Moreno vs Navas the battle of Sevilla
First off if Lucas is even on the bench I will be sick , for me midfield without Llallana is still our weakest area .Against Soton Wanyama bossed midfield , when we have Coutinho , Allen & especially Lucas in the same side we are too weak . We should sign Alex Song before this window closes . A draw will do for me vs. City .But plz Brendan no place for Lucas .
Pretty reasonable comments above, neither side settled so far. Hate having to wait till Monday night to see what happens. Feckin TV.
