Easy to get assists when all you're doing is passing to Ronaldo and he's banging them in
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Granted, but he still registered more than any one else in Europe's Top 5 leagues over the 3 seasons he was there. Players like Iniesta & Fabregas played with Messi and didn't get as many.
Also, how do you explain his stellar international record, playing with Klose, Gomez & Muller?
I don't think anyone is saying he is not a great player Sandman, just that if he had better players around him than he does at Arsenal, he would have a greater impact. His impact for Germany which you highlight, shows this perfectly.
Assist stats are meaningless to be honest without the context of how they happened.

Alright calm down mate, has he got pictures of you in bed with Cliff Richard or something?
That's a lot of money for a player who can't, won't or doesn't know how to shoot on goal. He could have put Arsenal ahead before Everton's first goal, but HE WON'T TAKE A SHOT ON GOAL WHEN HE HAS AN OPENING! This happened all last season and it looks like it is going to be more of the same this season!

This
A simple sideways pass to Ronaldo where he cracks in a 30 yarder means nothing
Sandman
Outside the G ooners I doubt you would find many that would rate him even close to Silva so to say Arsenal had 2 of the 4 best players in a league with Suarez, Yaya, Aguero, Kompany, Hazard, Sturridge etc is so one eyed as to be fanciful.
I don't think we will see the best of him in this country, he simply needs to play with better players than Arsenal have, especially up front, and hen needs to play in the middle.
"He wouldn't get anywhere near Citys first choice."
But Nasri starts and is an integral part of your side right? Give it a rest kiddo. Forget Ozil. Cazorla would start week in, week out for you. Clown.
It's really embarrassing how low people rate Ozil. Or shall I say the English fans.
Take the Everton game for example. He had a decent game. But you get the clueless sheep blindly claiming he was bad. What do these jokers smoke? It's a genuine witch hunt. Pure jealousy really. Half of these guys used to wish they had someone of Ozil's quality before he signed for Arsenal.

All stats are meaningless unless they support the particular argument you're trying to make.
That's how debating on the Internet works right?
Very true Skins!

No he wouldn't, it would unbalance our setup. Nasri was one of our best players last season not for assists but for ball retention, he played a pivotal role in our tactics as a whole.
Oh dear. Oh dear. Both Ozil and Cazorla are superior players to Nasri. They could do everything that ponce can do including ball retention.
Regardless, my point was Pellegrini can make space for average players such as Nasri and Navas but he wouldn't for Ozil? That's how much of a farce this whole obsession with him has become. It's just nonsensical.
lol at the comments on this thread. Never realised how bitter and obsessed people are with Arsenal.
Saying Mata is better than Ozil is actually insulting not just to him, but my eyes. I shouldn't have to read such trash. You won't find a football fan outside of England saying otherwise, but whatever. If one year ago people asked who the better player was, we all know what the answer would be. And that's because he wasn't an Arsenal player. Likewise 3 years ago if you asked the question, everybody would have said Ozil was better than Cesc but now that Ozil is an Arsenal player and Cesc is not, we all 'know' who the better player is (Cesc is better but that's not the point).
Wonder how long it is until poverty footballers like Schurle, Lamela and Navas are better than Alexis. That's if they aren't better already. I mean he has played 3 games for us, I think that's long enough for him to be branded overrated and shít.
Mata at £25 was a much better buy than Ozil at £40. Ozil will come good though. Form is temporary. Class is permanent.
Mata ain't a patch on Ozil.
He's clearly better, based on performances in the PL. He proves it on pretty much a weekly basis

Yes because then we would have too many attacking players, we don't play a setup that would suit Ozil. It's not about who is the better player, it is about who suits the way the team is set up as a whole and Nasri plays deeper for us than Silva or Ozil would.
If you read what has been put, no-one has said that that Nasri is better than Ozil (though your hatred of Nasri is ridiculous, he had a fine season last year), just that Nasri suits City's set up more.
If you use Sanchez on the wing, you will get a better use of Ozil, but still not the best out of him until you get a striker. City use Navas to stretch wing play when needed, Sanchez can do the same for Arsenal, but he needs a striker in the middle.A striker gets you the Ozil you thought you were buying, and the best out of Sanchez.
Fair point Bomdia. Good point actually.

Was €50m Ozil a good signing?
