Would be happy with those two.

Shaw
Herrera
Rojo
Di Maria
De Jong
Blind

Who wouldn't have taken that last May?

Di Maria a top-class talent, but £60m+ will take #mufc spend to £200m in 12 months -- and still the defence and midfield are lightweight.

Seems like baseless pessimism to me.

A midfielder.

Vidal if his knee is ok would be great BUT he isn't really the type of midfielder we need to partner Herrera really.

Bender, Khedira, Carvalho would all be suitable IMO.

Regarding Blind and de Jong, I think either would be a useful signing, both might be a bit excessive seeing as neither are top top quality. The good thing with these 2 is that LVG will know better than any manger in the world if they will be suitable.

Vidal/De Jong and Blind.

Di Maria smells like an Ozil transfer. Good signing but not what’s required. The key areas have yet to be addressed. Spending £60-70m on Di Maria seems like a desperate attempt to appease fans

Wow that's quite shocking. So £200 million spent since Fergie left and you've never been worse.

United team for this year:

De Gea
Smalling Evans Jones
Valencia Fletcher Cleverly Young
Di Maria Rooney Welbeck

For a team that have a history of using pace down the wings I think di Maria was pretty essential unless you consider Young, Valencia, Zaha and Nani good enough?

82 I've always rated Di Maria. I think Argentina missed him hugely in the WC Final when he was injured.

I'm sure he'll be a good signing but it doesn't solve the other problem areas.

Di Maria is needed as much as a cm and cb. We have zero pace in attack. Name me a top team with such slow attackers?

If we sign De Jong and Blind, I will be very happy.

Those areas will be addressed in good time, maybe even before the window shuts.

All if,buts and maybes with regards to us signing more players.Personally I think we're done.

I very much doubt we are done.

No one ever said di Maria would solve our defensive or midfield problems. But we do also have problems with our wide areas with little perpetration or pace which has a drastic effect on our attacks.

Di Maria in that respect is a brilliant purchase.

RBW, you're assuming Shaw, Rojo, Herrera and Carrick won't be playing regular football this year? Nor Mata / RVP / Januzaj?

We all get the point that further reinforcements are needed but when you put it across like that, it does sound rather melodramatic.
