Disappointing result but no points dropped on last season, and actually in the grand scale of things we are still 3 pts better off after beating Soton at home. However, we must get something at Spurs on Sunday after tonight, don't want to be playing catch up too early in the season.

Moreno is very good, people will focus on the mistake but positionally he is one of the best left backs in europe and will only get better.

What I like about him he usually has the speed of thought to recover any potential mistakes from either himself or a team mate.

Very jealous of that signing.

For those mentioning monreal, he is not a patch on moreno and the latter is ahead in the spanish pecking order as backup to alba.

Think we have lacked penetration in the penalty area in these first two games. We're getting enough of the ball but not doing much with it. Unfortunately I think that's where we're going to miss that little Uruguayan the most.

only watched the second half but i see the same issues as last year. i dont think its down to individuals so much as to why we concede goals. we simply aren't solid as a team. so many open gaps around and we ask too much of individuals. we also seriously lack game control. no pirlo to put his foot on the ball and keep it for 5 mins. they did that and took the sting out of our attack so we could never get into a rhythm which is why we looked dangerous in patches.

Rodgers will say we will learn from this defeat. I think it is right to say that. We were more fluent tonight than last weekend. Some positives and negatives.

Negative. Mignolet. He's not good enough. Also we got more injuries.

Skrtel out i have never rated him. Lovern was poor he needs to fix up. Mig he cost us some games last season with some howlers. Spurs we cant afford to lose next week, we were quite slow with moving the ball in the 2nd half.

Give him a break,it must be hard going trying to moderate a match thread on the Liverpool board and watch the game at the same time. If there's one match thread that is going to be invaded by well wishers it's the City v Liverpool thread.

In fairness he did ban the idiots eventually, it must be difficult to watch the game and keep up with so many idiots at once. Perhaps he needs to filter the repeat offenders to stop them coming on the match threads or a feature needs introduced to give a longer ban to repeat offenders.

Failing that there's always the Spurs match thread approach of using the same thread for match threads and thus they're banned permanently but I'm not in favour of that as some people get deleted for not much really.

I would disagree I think all match threads should be WUM free personally and our system virtually assures it is.

Games are not the time for banter and wind ups most of us are to passionate about our clubs to want that while we are watching them
