It's all speculation but it wouldn't surprise me if there is some element of truth in there. Wenger has made some bold statements this summer and I think there is more to our transfer dealings, or lack of them, than meets the eye. To be honest I first started thinking it when David Dein started putting his oar in. Something is afoot at Arsenal and it appears it's us fans who have to pay for it.
Either that or Wenger's going mental.
Interesting article. I actually read all that. You should change the title to:
Wenger Vs the Board; A battle from within.

the article could have some truth in it. For reminder, David Dein was brillant for Arsenal but had to leave because of the Board.
It could very well be true but it's just speculation really, isn't it? Find it hard to believe that any source would have ALL this info.
Batmanu that is what has been puzzling me all this time during this transfer period. People are busy criticizing Wenger but the fact is your club has been making a killing off transfer sales and record profits so to think Wenger has not thought about spending this money is a bit crazy.
Sorry I know this is an ignorant question - but who exactly are 'the board'?
The idea that we can afford the player but are unwilling to pay the wages seems to fit very well. I wouldn't be at all surprised if there's a large element of truth in the article.
It explains Wenger's seemingly bizarre statements this pre-season, along with not signing Mata after all the speculation.
There has to be some truth in this. It is too juicy to just be speculation.
This goes a long way in redeeming Wenger's stance this summer and explaining the current state of affairs at the club.
Yeah - this is why players leave as well.
Have you noticed there are NO Arsenal players in the lists of wealthiest players - only ex-Arsenal players, Cole Henry Vieira etc?
It's a really difficult dilemma - play along with the grotesque and disgusting salaries or else go with top-flight players that could and can get much more elsewhere?
