Our passing game has improved somewhat everywhere else but the final third.
Even against Swansea, we moved the ball around well but looked bereft of ideas in the final third.
Pretty sure that we will end up going 433 now we have Di Maria. It is the only way to get all of the best players in the team:
.........................DDG
Rafael..Smalling..Rojo..Shaw
...............Fletch...Herrera
......................Mata
......Rooney................Di Maria
......................RVP
Rooney can play in any of the 4 most attacking positions as injuries and rotation dictates. Adnan can play wide or in Mata's position and Kagawa can cover for Mata and Herrera.
4 3 3 suits you
Herrera Carrick ( another more defence minded midfield
ADM Rooney Januzaj
Mata to lose out in favour of pace once again.
RVP will rotate with rooney

im sure you saw how many time fletcher/cleverly either slipped or lost possesion at opposition box for them counter us
We are going 4-3-3 now, just need one more midfielder
People are too desperate to accodate both rvp and rooney.. for me its gotta be one or the other.
Playing rooney on the wing is a waste of time nowadays.
We should be looking at 4-2-3-1
with something like this.
Herrera - new player
Januzaj - Mata - Di Maria
rooney/RVP
we have sqaure pegs for square holes now. we dont need to try and fit players where they dont belong.

4231 and 433 are very similar really. Especially with Mata in the team, as he will hang back behind the wide players and use them as the out ball.
Liverpool were far the better team in the first 35 minutes, but City were able to soak up the pressure and turn on the style.
They kept the ball with ease, 30/40 passes being strung together at time, ridiculous.
The truth is though, the way the knock the ball about in the middle third isn't to different to us. The knock it about in front of the defence, side to side and wait for the defence splitting pass, our problem is we currently have nobody to change the pace of the game.

im hearing you BB but that's the difference they take the ball forward and if they cant find a way to go back and don't hoof it, they restart the process again. we bring the ball forward and once one of out attacking players touch the ball and gives it back to cm they go all the way back to def who hoof it
Yeah but wait and see how City fare when they come up against this team:-
.............De Gea..........
Rafael..Jones..Rojo..Shaw..
............Carrick.........
..Herrera...Vidal...Di Maria..
..............Mata...........
..............Rooney...........
We just need Ed to sign "King Arthur" this week and we'll have the best starting 11 in Manchester again
Got to admit though City look very impressive at the moment. Got to be looking to go very deep in the CL this season surely.
Last night, we changed our tactics quite a lot and it was only in the second half that we looked to keep the ball more. Liverpool set up against us to play counter attack and rely on the pace of Sturridge and Sterling. To negate that, we matched up counter attacking too and didn't allow them the space behind our back four that they exploit. The upshot was due to them having the ball more, they came out and that created the space for all three of our goals.
To me, we were spot on last night. Sometimes, you don't need to have the ball to still be in control of the game.
If want to learn something from Man City how about the importance of players that can get stuck in but also show remarkable amount of skill and pace. Thats what city is, a team with all round players
