Someone who doesn't underrate Willian

Agree with your main point, with a fully for squad you can actually put out a fairl strong first XI, it's as you say the replacements for those players that aren't up to scratch.

Fergie would probably win the league with this squad tho

First eleven isn't near Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs or Everton, nevermind City and Chelsea. That's the issue. You sort the first eleven first, then the squad.

Totally agree. We don't lack, or should not lack a quality starting XI. We do lack quality on the bench.

RVP..........Sturridge

Di Maria......Sterling

Mata........Gerrard
Herrera.......Allen
Carrick.......Henderson

Shaw.....Moreno?
Jones......Skertal
Smalling.....Loveren
Rafael.......Johnson

De Gea.........Mignolet

On paper we are a far more attractive and dangerous threat than Liverpool and I'm sure LVG will prove that in reality once everybody is back.

I agree with the OP in that our back up is crap with the exception of Januzaj, Kagawa, Hernandez, Rojo and Evans.

Blackett and Lingard have potential!

Some United fans who use this site will think this Article is utter rubbish, but it is completely true.

I saw that comment and thought it was utter rubbish. Do the same as you've done above with the Arsenal squad and we will be on par as well

Agree this! Why don't you compare to Liverpool/Arsenal, you will see that your back up are still very good individually.

Let's see the price tag here:

Anderson : bought w/ ~ 20 mil
Valencia: bought w/ ~ 20 mil
Young : bought w/ 20 mil
Fellaini : bought w/ ~ 30 mil
Cleverley: many rated him when he first broke into 1st team
Fletcher: also, was highly praised before under Fergie

And then you have also:

Kagawa: big money, best player in Bundesliga before coming to Utd
Mata: big money, best Chelsea player before coming to Utd,

Other backups include: Chicharito, Welbeck: 2 World Cup strikers.

So either you must have a better squad than Liverpool/Arsenal/Spurs/Everton, or you somehow misused/destroyed all of those players when putting them in your current team.

Personally, I think United have the fourth best squad in the league and arguably third. There is not a single defender or midfielder that I would put in the first team of Chelsea or City though (apart from di Maria now) and that is where it needs strengthening for me.

Di Maria and RvP are the only two players that would start for City or Chelsea (De Gea would for City as well). That tells you just how much work still needs doing.

Our team man for man is better than Liverpool's, however difference is they play much better as a team in a system that suits their strengths.

I disagree hence the massive gap between us last season. I feel there will be a similar gap this season, although I've no doubt if you stick with the manager this time, you'll see improvement towards the end and will be challenging next season.

I actually agree with this article, even if we sign a cb and a cm, to bring our first eleven up to par , we then need 4/5 players in the squad who can step in/ rotate without a noticeable difference in quality.

Not a chance we will finish as far behind Liverpool as last season. Liverpool have lost one of the best players in the world and replaced him with Balotelli.

That's one player, in the past few seasons United have lost Ferdinand, Vidic, Scholes, Giggs and Evra, amongst others and replaced with Jones, Smalling, Shaw, Fellaini and Young. You've started to fix that this season but as I said it's going to take time to get the players performing together and I feel you'll get that if you stick with the manager this time, towards the end of the season and by next season you'll be challenging.
