Didn't Juve or Vidals agent say the other day that there had been no bid for Vidal. Pretty sure Arab posted a link for it.

Forget about Vidal, it was never going to happen.
----------------------------------

Vidal's agent said that there had been no contact since the world cup. Now you can read that either as we were in touch, but haven't been since the world cup. Or that there hasn't been any contact since the world cup, which is when all the stories started to circulate about our interest.

Taking into consideration that Vidal mentioned joining United as being an option, I believe that the former is the most likely. I suspect that the club were looking to sign him, but LVG put a stop to it/put it on hold until he took stock of what he has/who else is available.

VC - short of the club coming out and saying that's the case VC i don't think we will ever categorically know but the quotes from the player and his agent certainly suggest there has bee some form of contact at some point.

You've changed your tune a bit from yesterday, I couldn't read yesterday because I didn't think there had been any contact. I guess your opinion differs with who you are talking to.

SKY Italia: #Vidal isn't fit yet, still having problems with his right knee, this morning #Vidal has not trained with the rest of the team.

This just means the vending machine will need filling up twice a week.

Surely we have to get someone though. Lucas Silva seems to be receiving high praise. Anyone seem him play?

Vidal again. Get over it. If it happens good, pointless clutching at straws won't make him come.

If we can get someone to clutch his "straw" he might be tempted.

Yesterday you were adamant that there had DEFINITELY been contact about Vidal. Today, unless the club come out & confirm it then we will never know.

Slightly different stance wouldn't you say?

Let's not get into all that tweet interpretation business again!

"Manchester United have received bids from Valencia and Juventus for Javier Hernandez.

"The 26-year-old joined United from Guadalajara in 2010 and has won two Premier League titles."

I really have no problem with Hernandez leaving.

As a striker in a supposed top club his game is just not good enough.

Fine by me, just happy you are taking a more sensible view this time.

When someone is expressing an honest view on something, calling them thick & claiming they can't read doesn't show you in a good light. (especially when you agree there may not have been contact the following day)

Oi, Arctic Monkey!

I wasn't the one you were arguing with nor the one who got abusive!

Apologies RR, I didn't check who the comment was from, my bad

Arctic - VC claimed we will one day realise there has never been interest from us. I said the statements from Vidal and his agents suggest otherwise (ie there has been contact and therefore interest) not sure what your point is. You seemed to struggle yesterday with the presence and meaning of the word since within the agents statement. I seem to remember somebody suggesting the persons making statement may have A poor grasp of English. Does that mean we dismiss every statement until somehow satisfied with their grasp of English? Ridiculous.

Red Russian - happy to discuss my interpretation of hummels tweet if you want but first I would ask you read it for yourself and offer your interpretation of it.

If you can't distinguish between
"definite contact" & "suggest there has been some form of contact" Then I'm p/ssing in the wind & I'll leave you to it.

posted on 28/8/14

Arctic - the statement says there has been some form of contact at some point. Clear enough for you? Jesus. Il write it crayon in really big letters for you next time.

posted on 28/8/14

Yep, I'll leave you to it.

Purely out of curiosity, do you think insulting people & stamping your feet helps you to get your point across?

Arctic - my my you re a sensitive flower. I will remind you it wasn't me that instigated this exchange over a topic that I believed we covered quite adequately yesterday.
