We've got 5 new players who have either not played yet or barely played (Herrera & Di Maria) and there still might be 1 or 2 more to join.

When we have everyone available we might look like a whole different team.

The squad we have at 08:23 this morning is the same as the one which won the league minus Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Scholes and Giggs, with the additions of Rojo, Shaw, Blind, ADM and Herrera, as well as Januzaj coming through (oh, and Fellaini). I find it very hard to tell whether we are slightly stronger or weaker on paper. Certainly the defence has less experience, though it should be said that Vidic had a less than great 2012-13 season and Ferdinand and Evra were gradually getting worse. The midfield looks better to me.

I'd wait until we have seen most of the players we have signed and the squad has got used to the Philosophy before saying we don't have the squad to get into the top four.

I'm not gonna start basing our season around the last few games.... Get our fullbacks back, and some of our new boys in and let's see.

As things stand I think Arsenal look the most vulnerable, especially now Giroud is out till xmas.

If they don't buy a striker today they could be in trouble. Would be very reliant on Sanchez, Walcott and Ramsey getting them enough goals.

I referred to the defence in my post. As I said (when acknowledging that we look weaker on paper), we haven't yet played the two new signings in our defence so it's a bit hard to judge. We should also bear in mind that plenty of fans were saying that Ferdinand, Vidic and Evra were well past their best even in the season we won the league.

But you still haven't explained why our midfield (now containing Mata, Herrera, ADM and Blind) isn't good enough to get into the top four. You did say we don't have a chance - a chance! - of making the top four without a new CB AND a new CM. Don't you accept that the additions we have made render our midfield better than the one which won the league? E.g. you have made it very clear you will be cracking them out all day if Cleverley leaves.
