With the window now closed I think we have generally done ok. No surprise to me that Doyle and Ward have got fixed up at premier clubs, and we managed also to offload Doumbia and be shot of Jamie. So for now just Boukari and Magreittrr left and biggest disappointment is that the talk of Roger getting fixed up weren't true.

As for incomings we look to have made three good signings in Van La Parra, Rowe and Saville. I still think we are light on cover and competition in defence and up front but it is widely rumoured that we have a striker lined up to arrive on loan when that window opens in a week.

Im not one to get personal, but the main reason that you lot get in to spats on here is that your all far too quick to rise to the bait.

For example, theres no way that Bute can seriously believe the drivel he posts here, its quite obviously done purely it to wind people up, if you ignored it instead of taking it personally every time, he might just give it a rest.

Just out of interest, how many exiles are currently up there at Premier League clubs?

"Wonderful speech wolfie but doesn't change the fact that every squabble on this site involved you or cinci as everyone will be aware of" - as are yoy, DJ, as are you!!

Vinnie - firstly no I am not, because they have squabbles with other people too and I don't. Secondly, for my sins I accept full responsibility for everything I write on here whether it's seen as good, bad or indifferent. I don't blame other people for what I write, and that is the point I was making.

Well, there's Jason Shackell for one. Signed by Wolves for £1m and never given a chance. Trying to remember who the manager was at the time!!

apart from anything else it's so rude to other posters, all of you seem to stuck in your own vendettas and to ignore the rest of us
in the last few days i've written posts to and named dj and cinci but not had a reply - too busy in your little war

And on the transfer window I forgot that we are still left with Kevin Foley, and seems he has become number one forgotten man. How sad that our player of the season from McCarthy's promotion team has arrived in this position when he looked a top full back in the making at that time. I know Mick wanted more height in the defence in the Premier League and chose to play Zubar or Stearman instead but it was a waste of a good full back in my opinion and I hope he gets the chance somewhere to prove he can still play.

The point I would make to all of you is - WHY DONT YOU JUST IGNORE EACH OTHER!!

You're a really sensible poster the rest of the time, you're view of the team is very similar to my own. You must be enjoying the way we are playing at the moment. I honestly cant remember a time when a Wolves team played like this. Creating space and having so much time on the ball. Its a joy to watch.

As I say vinnie I accept responsibility for what I write and have to take criticism on the nose for the times that drifts into squabbles. I will try to avoid that.

As for the team then it really is positive times and thoroughly good to watch. As long as key players stay injury free then we can be promotion contenders again. Just hope we can keep the momentum going.

I dont want to tempt fate but do you think KJ has changed warm up routines or something? We were very lucky with injuries last season and the same team selection has started every game this season so far (even Dave Edwards).

I've been consistent in my views. I am loving how the club is rising phoenix-like from the ashes following the plummet down the divisions that we endured. I had my views about decisions made back in 2012, and those haven't changed. I enjoyed our years in the Prem and have respect for the personnel who took us there.

I don't know whether it's a change or just good luck but fingers crossed it continues. Last season I think we would have been most vulnerable to injuries to McDonald and Sako. But the signings we have made in the summer mean I think we can cover those as long as they aren't out too long. With the current squad I think the players we most need to stay fit are Batth and Dicko. We do have players we can bring in but the gap in quality of the replacements is too big in my opinion. Hopefully we will see a loan striker arrive next week.

posted on 2/9/14

I would put Stearman in with Batth and Dicko. I don't really think we have adequate cover for either centre backs and whilst I like Ebanks-Landell, I think he would have benefited more from a loan move this season than playing back up.

posted on 2/9/14

I know we only saw Saville for about 10 mins on Saturday but he seemed to fit into the system very well. He looked as comfortable on the ball as KMac does. I was disappointed when Van La Parra went off (even though it was the right decision by KJ) but the Henry was outstanding in the second half - best I have seen from him so far.

Tamwolf - Stearman was superb again on Saturday. At one point, Blackburn hoofed the ball up the field and, rather than just head it away, Stearman chested it down, took control and passed it to Golbourne.

Unbelieveably, a guy near me shouted "you're still s@!t Stearman"

posted on 2/9/14

Stearman has been one of my favourite players since our promotion season with Mick. I've always rated him and am glad to see he has proven himself, even with so many doubters.

It baffles me how he still gets stick when he has probably been one of our best and most consistent players for the last year.

posted on 2/9/14

I would say that Batth is more solid and important to us than Stearman but that's not a criticism of Stearman at all who I was pleased we gave a new contract to. When we didn't get Maguire I thought we would struggle to find anyone better than Stearman. Just think Ricketts could cover Stearman for a short time but would struggle to be as solid as Batth.

Back to the transfer window - I see that Albion signed 11 players, but only spent £13m. One of the players was something like £9m? That cannot be good transfer policy, can it?

posted on 2/9/14

There seems to be a view that we will bring in a loan striker next week but who? From previous rumours then probably Danny Graham, Chris Wood or a youngster from one of the top clubs. Graham and Wood both look to be 4th choices at their clubs so it depends how much cover they want. Leicester tried to bring in Defoe to suggest they still feel short of strikers so might want Wood for cover. Otherwise there are doubtless some good youngsters at all the top clubs who would be better cover for us than Leon

Albion have signed more players this summer than any club in the Premier League evidently. Not great quality I suspect though. And still think they made a poor choice for manager

The £9 million man hasn't looked the part yet either. I think they are in a bit of trouble this year, especially if it takes time for the new signings to settle in.

Leicester signed Lawrence and Powell late yesterday as well, both strikers, one on loan one permanent, no idea where that leaves wood.

At least being prem players their clubs will subsidize drops to the champo.

I hold out hope it might be James Wilson from united.
