Arsenal have applied for an extension to sign Welbeck
Coz 3 odd months is not long enough...... Could be 2 more hours according to SSN
It's only cos he's UTD player. And we don't normally deal direct like this.. But it's a shame, he's had to go, but Arsenal get a better player than Giroud and Sanogo that's for sure!
Once he starts contributing at a better rate than Ozil, the haters will switch, cos they recognise a good player.
This ain't Silvestre mark 2!
The OP is a joke - happy with mediocrity, utd sign falcao and he's delighted with welbeck. Ur a disgrace mate
Whatever you say, he's an upgrade on Giroud, so for that i am mildly pleased. He's gonna get us 10-15 goals this season, hopefully and thats gonna help.

Maybe, just MAYBE, Arsenal have caught themselves on and realised what an embarrassing mistake it is to sign a numbly like Welkak. My guess is they were pizzed when they made the initial offer !
I'm not happy with mediocrity, not at all! I'm hoping that Welbeck will prove to be far better than mediocre. And seeing as he is now an Arsenal player I would expect fans to show him some support. If you are angry it should be directed at Wenger and the board. It seems many would have preferred we spend £50 million on Falcao who is almost 29. What if he injured his knee again and was out for another 6 months?
It makes me sick when players like Ramsey have been hounded by the fans in the past. How can we expect loyalty from players if we treat them like that. They are humans too.
i think his an OK deal, you got to say, Wilshere, Welbeck, Theo, Chambers , Gibbs, if England are cack so are Arsenal LOL
Deal sheet into PL - confirmed just now by David Ornstein - 2 hours to submit paperwork - Welbeck and Arsenal player.
Had a game to goal ratio of 0.75 last season...
He's underrated by a lot of people IMO, think you will be pleasantly surprised by how good he is.
I am actually quite gutted to see him go...

you are the biggest disgrace on here and thats saying something. the stuff you have come out with today is unforgivable. how can you come here and claim to be an arsenal fan in the future?
Personally - think this is a good signing - I don't understand the Welbeck hate on here. We have a decent player better than Sanogo. I get frustrated by AW - but maybe we will focus on CDM and CB in Jan Window.

Mate you are the disgrace, one of the worst posters on here. Just a sheep going along with the status quo, delighted with finishing fourth and think wenger can do no wrong.
That's how you play poker with style!
I would have loved Falcao but his fee £50Mil and the fact hes gonna be 29 I'm January just doesn't make sense Imo. Add I'm the fact he had that.serious knee injury its a massive risk for a club like Arsenal.
Good balanced article tbf

Good to hear the thoughts of someone who has likely seen him play more than most on here
I agree, and have always felt he was very underrated.
Playing out on the wing hasn't helped his case at all. When he played up-front for England in Euro 2012, I thought he looked excellent. Hard-working, quick, and good link-up play - I'm quite optimistic if this goes through.
Wolf don't embarrass yourself any further.
Some AFC fans dont like to give certain players a chance, some are just fed up and want the best in the world all over our squad, we're never going to able to do that financially, we'll always have top talent (Sanchez)mixed with some potential talent (Wilshere, Chambers) and some guys that might need games to show their talent (Welbeck).
So calm the feck down and show your support to a new player.
Sorry DaStu on that post you quoted it should say 'a goal to game ratio of 0.75 when played up front!'
He is not a goal scorer when played on the wing, although given your options on the wing I don't imagine that is where you'll be using him.
Much the same as Sturridge IMO, given a position up front and some decent game time and he will flourish, think it will end up being considered a good deal for Arsenal by most.

What I find strange is we wanted a £59m striker, no experience in the PL, who in Falcao has had a bad injury but instead we get an English player, PL experienced, Fergie rated him, Alan Smith and others think it will be a great signing for us but some here think we signed a dustbin lid......
I am happy with this signing. Plus he wanted to come to us over the Spüds, that alone gives him a great start...
