Oh of course Davies is Welsh.

I think Liverpool have a bit of a monopoly on English players with any quality in Henderson, Sturridge and Sterling.

Very overpriced most of them.

A lot of people throwing Fazio in, I wonder how many have seen him more than half a dozen times. He has a lot of mistakes in him, I am unconvinced he'll go straight into your first 11.

Lol..no different to our current CBs. He'll fit in just fine.

I have heard that he can be prone to switching off sometimes Haven't seen him play yet so will reserve judgement until then.

Would we trust a forward line of

Townsend Kane Lennon?

I wouldn't mind seeing them play together for an all english forward line experiment.

I'd prob trust Kane to get a few but no way Lennon Townsend & Lennon

Ioavirgo - I would go with the following because we need some pace up top and Soldado would play on the last shoulder as a sniffer whilst Ade always comes deep :-
................Lloris
Dier Fazio Vertonghen Davies
......Stambouli Capoue
.............Eriksen
........Lennon Soldado - Lamela.

yeh thats my frustration with Ade as well. Man don't agree but I would actually stick ade on the left of Soldado and Lamela on the right.

Ade Soldado Lamela

.........Eriksen

But my formation (OP) above is based on existing roles as I understand them within Poch's formation.

I know we have an obsession with wingers. but it's funny how wingers very rarely manage assists in the modern Spurs age of football. run and cross is outdated. Plus we don't have the strikers for it. Soldado not good in the Air, Ade not in the box, Kane still learning his trade.

I believe our best formation with the personel we have is 4-2-2-2

Ade Soldado
Eriksen Lamela
Capoue Stambouli
Back 4

Stop teams playing through us. Forces them wide and if they want to cross we have Mountain Fazio to deal with it.

I'd agree with that - he's out on the left mostly anyway

I think Ade is quicker, probably more skilful, has better movement and carries a greater goal threat.

I can't really see the reason for Chadli to play ahead of him on the left.

The key question is who would you rather have on the pitch. Soldado or Chadli? Who carries a greater goal threat?

posted on 3/9/14

I think a front four of Ade, Soldado, Lamela and Eriksen would not be fun to defend against.

I can -

Chadli 2 goals from the left
Adebayor No goals from anywhere
