Newbie to ja606 yes, newbie to the NFL no.

I’ve been growing onto American football over the past 10 years or so, from just watching Super Bowl, to buying and playing Madden on PS3 and to going to my 4th & 5th Wembley game last year. Unfortunately I can’t make any this year for various reasons but will watch what I can on channel 4. Last years channel 4 coverage helped me see more from the game than ever before. Watching last years Hard Knock gave me a greater understanding to the whole pre-season process (I record last nights and will watching when I get in tonight) and the weekly highlight show help me get into the game even more. Since getting hold of sky I also manage to watch even more by at least trying to catch the 18:00 game and a few years back managed to stay up and watch all the playoff games. I was unable to watch them all last year as I was in Australia watching other Sport (as my name suggests I’m a fan of a lot of different sports) but watched what I can as Playoff games were on free to air TV over their and I was teaching other backpacker the rules to the game.

For those asking tonight’s game starts 01:30BST, however I found the free mobile app usefully to catch up with 5 minute video or so which I watch when having my breakfast.

I also missed that Sky Sports again will show all the Playoff Game plus the Super Bowl along with the 3 Thanksgiving Day games and The ‘Total Access’ show is on six days a week and is free on the Sky Sport website.

Anyone doing a weekly predictions thread?

Ok Thanks.

I don’t really have a team as such, as in other sports I can say, ‘I’m a die hard ... fan’. I have a mate who has helped me get into the game more the past 3/4 years and he’s been trying to turn me in to a Steelers fan. However I see myself as more of a Patriots follower rather than fan, think this is due to them winning the first Super Bowl game I ever watched or it could just be as simply as they have England in their name. I do also have a thing for the Rams but this is just pure and simple as they have the same nickname as my beloved Derby County! I could however find myself becoming a fan of a team of whoever moved to the UK (if that was to ever happen!). However I guess that could be the NFL's biggest worry, could other UK fans swap their team, to whoever moved to London?

The NFL is rubbish. Every team basically plays the same formation, the same plays the same everything. The NFL is basically a formula with little to no individuality, flair or excitement.

I would be so much happier if they showed the NCAA instead. So much variety, better match ups, the players care more and the stadiums have a bit of atmosphere.

College football is awesome, but I love both, watch college on Saturday and then pros Sunday gives you an idea of how good the pros really are.
