Sterling outperforming Sanchez.

I wouldn't say he was struggling.

He is doing ok.

Of course to meet expectations of a top player, he needs to do better than ok, but an ok start is not struggling.

Now Ozil, there is a guy who is struggling, and he made a very good start.

Great - a Liverpool fan saying we're disappointed in a player after just 3 PL games. Anybody would think he'd been here for 3 seasons. Liverpool logic - something I will never even begin to understand (PLEASE DON'T MENTION HISTORY).

Regardless, would I swap Sterling for Sanchez?

No.

Sterling is a quality player, particularly for a 19 year old.

Sanchez has been OK so far, though, probably our best player in some pretty poor team performances.

Hopefully the walking comedy act Welbeck can complete a trio of pacy front men, and take us away from using a centre forward as plan A, and perhaps bring more from Sanchez and Ozil.

I'd take our little Angel if I'm honest

So would I, Earl, but that's what you get for close to double the price of Sanchez and what, 100x the price of Sterling?

Was Angel good in pre-season tho' Earl?

That's the real test.

Funny enough I remember watching di maria play for benfica (?) and thinking hes ok, noyhng special. Hes come on a lot but I never thought back then he would be a worldy.

Now sterling I always thought he would be a great player, maybe because I watch the youth on lfctv. Mind u I reckon ibe is going to be special too so we wil see how that pans out.

So you were more impressed watching someone play reserve football than someone playing competitive football?

posted on 7/9/14

Earl.....your so pedantic. Yes, konchesky...jovanovic...djimi..all played competitive footy, and I didn't rate them above several players in the reserves. I guessing the same could be said of many clubs.

Yes I'm sure that's what you thought GB.

You couldn't even see that Aguero is better than Carroll, let alone 20 times better.

What is this? An Arsenal fan that doesn't think that Webeck is the saviour? You'll get disowned by your brethren.

I had similar brain spasms when we signed Fellaini.

Surely he'll be better than what we've got.

Maybe he'll bring us the physicality we need in the middle.

Maybe he'll score goals from midfield.

Saying that, I think Welbeck will do ok.

This GB guy really is a walking comedy show.

Making the transition from one national league to another is never easy - most players take time to get used to the differences. Unless they're truly world-class. The best of the best can play anywhere.

What makes the move additionally difficult for some is the consistently competitive nature of our top flight when compared to Portugal, Spain, Italy and The Netherlands.

There aren't many opportunities to 'coast' and no hiding place for the work-shy!!!

GB has a point.
