I didn't understand why Bale was pumping long throws in to the box for VDV and Defoe to try and win against Smalling, Jones and Evans.

Agree about Lennon and the cut back! Also when he did release the ball it was blocked and he chested it right on the line and gave them a goal kick. Why didn't he just let it go for a corner?! Harry says Modders head isn't right. Last night it looked like Lennon didn't have a clue either. No point in pace without a footballing brain is there!

Agree with what you said. We need a much superior set of strikers so our wingers can actually attempt a cross and at least have someone in the box challenging for the header. We are setup to attack through the wings yet have no one to get on the end of crosses!! Tactically naive from Redknapp.

van Der Vaart 6? Got to be kidding... Haven't watched so self-centered player since Denilson in 1998... Disastrous performance! On the other hand, Defoe is not too far behind. These lads do not understand the most basic footballing concept - IT'S A TEAM GAME!

"Our defending was pee poor as usual"
For the first half we actually defended well and i thought Kaboul did a good job throughout. Probably the best out of our back four. It wasn't until the second half when we became completly over run in midfield, so it was no suprise to see our back four getting a hard time. After all this was away to Man Utd and our centre mids allowed attack after attack to pass through them.

Could be worse though guys. At least you're not us

i was praying for another United goal to fly to the top of the predictor league. If only you played gomes.

from what i saw he seemed to be our hungriest player and the only one capable of creating anything whatsoever, thus he gets a 6, which is an average mark.

yeah noone was tracking runners from midfield.... but the defence was very sloppy with things that they should have been clearing up. i agree kaboul was impressive in the second half.

Edin babe are you ok.

Don't worry. Levy will spend big in the next week and you'll have new strikers and CB's coming out your ears. He will also keep Luka.

You'll be fine babes i promis.

Thanks abu, I was @ Tiger last night.

I would say it was a good night, but that would be lying. I cant remember if it was good or not!

Edin - Tiger Mondays are brilliant. I used to love them. too old now. only once every while for them.

RRP - it's all true.

I thought BAE had a good game for use. I like him. Great defender, very calm.

No actualy... It showed just Ferguson's superiority over Redknapp. Tottenham was stronger team comparing individual positions, but failed to materialize that advantage on the pitch. When that's the case, you only have manager to blame. Adding to that, when your top players play the game not for the team, but themselves, you lose. Fact!

Abu -

Same old Spurs last night, couldn't put the ball in the net when we are on top, the opposing team then goes up the other end and scores and the floodgates open

Last nights second half performance was down to the lack of quality brought in over the last year, we cant score goals, simple as that

posted on 23/8/11

One thing which I thought was stupid was the fact that there was clearly a 'shoot on sight' tactic last night which was really ineffective tbh!

Abu- Yeh they are, SO many comedy texts being sent around last night!

But when that hunger makes your entire team look bad and ruins a great number of chances, it does not deserve a praise, or does it? (don't get me wrong, I think vdv is a very gifted player, but I sense he tries to do Maradona in Napoli - except Tottenham ain't Napoli, and vdv is nowhere near Maradona)

Edin - haha sent boxes the next day are brilliant. have you seen the last episode of the inbetweeners where mates swap phones and get a free texts. Well we play that but if there is say six people then veryone gets a shot on your phone. That leads to crazyness.

Did you watch the game?

dont disagree with this. however, i thought he was the only one who looked creatively like he could do something for us.

when will we ever sort out our set pieces though. its so unprofessional to be so bad at something you can do in training

posted on 23/8/11

Abu, we only ever did that once, never again! Gets really awkward whenever me and my Dad are in the same room and someone mentions bananas...

Yeh I watched the game, was boring and we lacked any cutting edge, kinda wish I didnt

good point there! But that's no players fault - something's smelly in the training process, I guess.
