What's missing at Spurs?
A Sheikh, an oligarch or some other rich someone who sees owning a football club as a toy.
Champions League football
A large stadium
Recent History of the kind that generates:-
Brand awareness and media coverage
Too many of the above available to other clubs for the amount of real football talent available. Too many footballers on the books of the richest clubs, who do not play or are loaned out, but have quality that could be available to other clubs but are kept to maintain competition to a minimum. Coupled with a loan system that favours the owner club.
A team capable of dealing with the modern premiership era, where survival is more important that winning the title.
Skill, pace and creativity to deal with defensive and counter set-ups, where a draw is considered success.
An awareness that Tottenham are a team that are a prize scalp for many smaller clubs, but unlike Arsenal, far easier to beat.

What is missing at Spurs...
For me its our identity. We just don't seem to know who we are or where we are going at the moment. We don't have a style of play (appart from being toothless and be flaky defensively). Sure we have had too many managers lately, all with different ideas and systems which surely hasnt helped but we need to settle on a style of play and see it through to its entirety rather than constantly chopping and changing things every year.
What is missing at Spurs...
.........is an acceptance by their fans that they are not actually a big club
Mancini gave City the winning mentality. The rest is now history.
Maybe you need a manager who will instill this attitude on your players as well.
joeymancityz.

Howells plays for our legends team quite regularly.
I will never forget his performance the day his dad sadly died it was monday night football he insisted on playing and was man of the match best player on the pitch.
It is quite sad and borderline disrespectful that some fans do not appreciate certain players efforts put in at a club.
Jenas was another treated that way. Never.given appreciation eventhough he gave his all.
then I see people praise benny or adebayor and just cringe.
Our current crop are softer than a Liverpool penalty
Graham Roberts
He would last about 5 minutes in the modern game far to aggressive.
I know I will get flamed for this but if he could sort out his temperament Lee Cattermole could be that sort of player. At least he sticks a foot in when its necessary even if he does get a bit carried away
