We look lost without Giroud or Welbeck
What excuse does podolski have, he's on 100k a week, it's farce, I can't believe we didn't cash in

100k a week to add a few lolz to the dressing room and take a few selfies. Wenger logic.
I like Podolski but he really did not do himself any favours tonight. He is finished at Arsenal. He will be sold in January hopefully as a part exchange deal for a DMF or centre back.
Rosicky and Campbell were also very poor tonight.
Podolski is a waste of space. should have sold him on deadline day we dont really need him.
Rosicky had a bad game but harsh to call him a disgrace. he really isnt
Joel was decent. Rosicky was terrible. But what is he, 34 now? Give him a break

I'm sure they did try but who's gonna pay him 100k a week?
Same situation as the Danish Ronaldo couldn't get rid of him because of the wages he was on.
Rosicky you can kind of make an excuse for, he's cing to the end of his top level career and has hardly played. Podolski on the other hand spends more time on twitter and acting as a cheerleader for both club and country.

The same Wenger that's been trying to get rid off Podolski for a while now. The same Wenger that barely plays Podolski. I think that Wenger realises what Podolski fails to offer. People will use anything to have a pop at Wenger these days.

And rightly so. He bought the joker and sanctioned the wage packet. I don't see why, just because he's belatedly admitting to his mistake, he should be free from criticism.
Most players need a few games to get match fit and sharp. Its very harsh about Pod on here. With a few games under his belt and decent players alongside him he could still prove his worth.
I remember a lot of fickle Arsenal fans (not unlike you lot) calling for Bergkamp to be dropped because he had performed badly a couple of times in the first 2 games coming back from injury.
The Great AFL
It's the same Wenger who brought Podolski to the club on those wages and decided after 2 months he didn't really rate him.
I say we give Podolski a job in the PR/Marketing department for us, might be good there.

Are you an insider, why would the manager of a club decide what wage should be offered to a player? Come on, use your brain and stop being so irrational. Funnily enough, Podolski looked a really good signing at first. However, like many other I wanted him gone in the summer and still do.
There are many things that you can criticise Wenger for, but the failure of a signing to perform really isn't one of the biggest problems.

Again, I don't see how Wenger would be the one negotiating the wages.

Depends how you define 'really good'. Do you mean as in statistically speaking? Yeah he did, 16 goals in your first season isn't bad.
However he went missing so many times in games, and would go into hiding.
And by perform, that could even stretch to attempting a sprint. The laziest player I have ever seen.

He's said himself he does, don't know what more proof is needed.
I thought Rosicky had some good moments. Was decent. To be fair you have to allow for the fact that they haven't really had a run in the team yet this season. Actually come to think of it I don't know why either of these players are getting slated. They were both ok. Didn't strike me as particularly bad by any means.

Podolski was a disgrace. Sorry but he was.
Santos vs Man United was a disgrace

In what way am I being irrational when he's claimed himself that he's part of that process and was the brainchild behind the communist wage structure we employed for years.
And Podolski never looked good. I take no pleasure in it being so, but I've always thought he was poor.
"I don't know how it works at other clubs, but the wages at Arsenal are decided in consultation between me and the board," Wenger said. "There is an amount of money that is dedicated to the wages every year. Within that budget, we try to come up with payments that are sensible and defensible.
"As long as the economical balance within a club is respected and you pay the people with the resources that make economical sense, then it is fine. If I want to pay a player a little more than the budget, then I ask for the authorisation from the board.
"The set-up we have means sometimes you have to let one player go to make space for someone coming as the squad is limited and sometimes you need to knock out some good players to make room for others."
He's said himself he does, don't know what more proof is needed.
