just for one wee second, change the person in the dock from a celtic fan to one of those horrible sectarian racist thugs who follow your champions, do you honestly think he would get off and do you think celtic fans would be so tollerant with it
----------------------

Anybody get hurt? Nope
Any victim at all? Not really unless you're a sensitive soul
Any threats of violence. Nope (one of main reasons he avoided jail)
Any threat to the public? Unless he hits them with a keyboard.

Why should someone who has not physically harmed anyone, made no threat to harm anyone, is no threat to the public and who has committed no previous offences be locked up for this?

davie - we need to stop this shocking behaviour somehow. How would YOU stop it then?

"Why should someone who has not physically harmed anyone, made no threat to harm anyone, is no threat to the public and who has committed no previous offences be locked up for this?"

It's oppression, pure and simple religious oppression.

curly - sadly, weve come to expect this lack of condemnation and total hypocrisy from the bhoys.

Ibrox - there are far more shocking things happening everyday in this country that need more attention than folk commenting on websites.

Stopping people calling Walter Smith an Orange B, Lennon a fenyin whatever and Diouf a racist name dont come high on my list of priorities of shocking things in this country that need to be addressed. I prefer the police to protect me in the street, not my feelings on the internet.

So Ibrox, do you think the guy deserved the jail? And do you honestly think that sending this guy to jail would stop this so called shocking behaviour? And what about the thousands of people who have committed the same offence, and worse, these past few years?

Help for heroes - what are you even talking about tatties for? Lennon got death threats, you know like people threatening to kill him. We're talking about criminal offences here and being sent to jail for committing them, not what you are allowed and not allowed to sing inside a football stadium.

Nobody got injured by the VIABLE EXPLOSIVE DEVICES but the threat is still there, it was attempted murder. I know the sticks and stones thing but maybe its different when bombs are involved. I honestly cant believe you've just compared the offence of bombs and bullets being sent to Lennon to some guy on facebook who made two comments about Rangers employees

What double standards???? The OP says 300 hours community service is lenient...after that it's the jail.

He did not desrve to be jailed, considering what some thugs-who have previous-are getting away with

posted on 23/8/11

Is this the singing of the famine song you are referring to?

Usual double standards and not one word of condemnation, its the celtic way
-----------------

What you talking bout double standards? Was the guy wrong? Yes. Should he be punished? Yes. But does he deserved to be locked up with murderers, rapists and child molesters for writing comments on an internet site? I dont believe so.

And when someone is in the dock for singing the famine song and I pipe up and say "hang him high", then you can accuse me of double standards ya nob

im sorry but plenty of celticminded journos and celtic fans have been squeeling a lot recently about police going in amongst the rangers fans and draging them out and arresting them for singing offensive songs, this is worse for me

you get heavily critised in the west of scotland for singing that, but not if your just a vile racist sectarian m0r0n

how do you know he got death threats, theres been no trial yet

davie - i think it would send a clear message to people that its not on. Wouldnt you agree?

jessy the law doesnt work that way

And Heroes? What has that got to do with whether or not this guy deserved the jail? Being arrested and getting jailed are two completely different things.

So what you are saying is that since this guy deserves the jail many of your fans do too? Really dont know what your point is.

Is his offence on a par with sectarian / racist or inflammatory singing?

+++++++++

That would depend on whether you class someone committing the above inhouse or, in public

posted on 23/8/11

Daft bhouy. He'll think twice about doing anything similar.

If he had previous then fair enough, jail him. But first offence? Sentence was about right I'd say.

Remorseful? I doubt it.
