Could be big fish small pond syndrome
If he gets 20+ PL goals this season you have to say his worth 15-20Mill for the potential factor and yeh should get a call up
about £5-6m
not yet
funny because I was saying last year what a good player he looked and a lot of albion fans were critical of him. a real talent and potential to go on to be a big name in the prem IMO. should be getting time in the U21s for a year before thinking of the next step up, which should include a tournament for bigger match experience.
needs a couple more seasons to grow and develop before talking about full England honours, or about his price tag. if he keeps improving then he can push his value up to double figures, especially with the inflated prices british players command. mind you, if shane long can be sold for £12m then who knows should a club be rich/desperate enough.
the worry for albion, as ever, will be if he DOES keep improving, will peace cash in?

Too early to tell with him at this stage. Looks so dangerous at times but others looks average, though I only really watch him in the big games and the under 21's (who he looks excellent for).
There's potential there but he could be another Agbonlahor rather than a Daniel Sturridge, for exampe. Hopefully it's the latter.
Too early to play for England, in my opinion. Even though we are playing crap teams we need to develop the chemistry between the first team players in preparation for the Euros, so I don't really see a place for him just yet.
above - should have said "should be getting more time in the U21s"
I'm torn regarding whether he should play for England or not.
It would be great for him and the club if it happened but you've also got to think about the potential effects if he gets picked, plays badly and gets slated.
Having said that, i'm pretty confident he'd score against the likes of San Marino.
As for his value, we may soon find out. If he continues to score goals you can guarantee offers will come in for him and they'll be big offers too. Remember that Zaha cost United £10 million without Premier League experience. Since then transfer fees have gone up.
agree Darren
we have enough new players in the England set up as it is, all of whom need to play more matches together to build their partnerships. I'd want us to play our strongest sides against san marino and estonia and try to win with a big goal difference. time to play untested squad players once we have qualified - either with competitive games spare, or in the pre euro friendlies.

coxy,
I thought zaha was £15m which makes it even more ludicrous that he then wasted a year of his career sat in the reserves or as a bit part on loan in a championship-bound Cardiff.
worst thing possible for berahino (and England) is for him to get the big money move too soon. we've seen so many 21 year olds disappear into the squads of man city, Chelsea etc., and then reappear three years later worse than when they got signed and with very little premier league experience.
I hope albion hold on to him and let him develop properly, with regular first team football. and I'd still keep him at U21 for now, let him play at the next tournament and just maybe get him into the squad for the euros if he has another good 12 months.
gb
Berahino has scored 9 in 8 for England U21's.
...and Peace will never 'cash-in'. We will obviously get offers but JP will inflate the price as he usually does.
£15m for Mulumbu anyone? Scared Milan off.
Sorry gb.
Thread moved on by the time I commented. I agree with all you have said...
Hopefully west brom start giving other youth products opportunities. I really want to Kemar Roofe play in the PL as i went school with him
But how are you meant to develop a team if your not playing them together regularly?
People complain that England aren't a team but are a group of individuals, and then complain if players off form are still getting played when that is trying to be achieved. It's a no win situation for the manager because England fans are dîckheads and moan about every decision they make (not that I'm a fan of Hodgson).
No disrespect to Berahino, but he's not going to get in the England team ahead of Sturridge, Welbeck and Rooney as the strikers for the Euros.
One, because he's not as good as them. Two, because they are the main strikers for Liverpool, Arsenal and United and not West Brom, which we all no is massively influential.
Lambert may fear for his place. And he's the only player I'd consider replacing him with. Unless Berahino is brought in as a wide player.
But for the meantime, he's best sticking with the under 21's and continuing to progress with West Brom. One thing I've also heard about him is that he's got a bit of an attribute problem. So giving him an England call up at this stage because he's scored four prem goals is hardly the best idea - if the rumours are true - look at Zaha when he thought he'd made it.
Zaha was £10m rising to £15m. Won't get to £15m as he's not played and is unlikely to have a future at United unless he has a stormer for Palace and makes Van Gaal change his mind.

there's an open spot, maybe two, for strikers in the squad. but those three named above are all nailed on to be at the euros so long as they are fit. lambert won't get game time at Liverpool and will probably struggle to keep his place but at the same time most England managers will want/be under pressure to pick a target man style forward and lambert is probably seen as the best in England for that role, while carroll remains made of balsa wood, lager and faded dreams.
international sides can't just pick the best XI on form because that would change every few weeks and any squad has to develop through regular game time. Germany built their success on moulding a squad over three or four years and although there will always be opportunities to break into that for the right player, we should avoid rushing every promising kid into the full England squad on the back of a good few games.
we have an U21 set up for a reason. berahino is proving his worth in it and learning about international football out of the full glare of an England qualifier or tournament. rather that than see him become the next agbonlahor/darius vassell...
RAP, I was talking about Berahino due to what we have in his position.
Other positions that aren't nailed on and are open for players gaining experience I agree. Think Ward-Prowse is injured, though.
Also it's difficult judging the likes of Blackett and Dier based on a few games in the prem, and whether or not they are worthy of an England call up.
Blackett has only just got called up to the under 21's. Dier has been in the under 21's for a bit but both players are behind even Michael Keane in that set up. Should the under 21's be ignored because of some good form in the prem? I'd hate to be an international manager for this reason. It's difficult to fairly decide who is worthy of a call up.
GB, yep I agree with that. As I said in my last post, though, it's a difficult one to judge for the manager.
The very nature of the way the fixtures are spread out makes it even harder. The form player at times can sometimes just be that. Look at Townsend last October.
Fast forward six months and he looks the average player many thought whereas Sterling's form has seen him become one of our biggest attacking threats.

Worth - English tax, young, prem proven = £20m plus
England squad - absolutely yes. I think the U21s have qualified for the Euros next summer so it's time to promote him.
Oh fack off does he look a more clinical striker than Rooney. He's scored 9 premier league goals, for Christ's sake.
Don't see the need to fast track him just yet. I'd wait until the next international break to see if he maintains his form.
The likes of Spain, France and Germany seen to think the under 21's has it's uses. So I don't see the point in scrapping it.
Though I do think that there should be an under 21 World Cup. I think the players would gain more at that level playing against teams from other continents than just European sides.
Got to be worth £20m minimum in today's market for young English players
Liverpool would take you up on that.
