lol yes, not sure we can say he's better than rooney just yet
one thing for sure coxy, there's nothing quite as exciting for a footy fan than seeing a young talented striker at yr club.
to be in the £20m bracket, he'd need to be picked up by one of the big four or five sides. might be a good fit for arsenal but would wenger buy another striker so soon after wellbeck? man utd have plenty up front and need to spend money on defence and DM. Liverpool have done their money for now. Chelsea and man city won't buy/use british forwards.
so I don't see anyone coming in with the really high offers just yet. next summer will be the test after a full season of prem football.
We won't be after him as we have Origi to return next summer unless we loan him to another prem club. However for this lad:
- Spurs need a striker
- Arsenal might if Welbeck flops
- City and Chelsea need English players

Hopefully they do price people of out him, as he could be very special
Yet he's scored a shît load of goals. Sorry, no chance is Berahino and more clinical goal scorer than Rooney.

And I'll call you a twaat.
I think Southgate might have some influence at the moment as well. He's said he'd like to keep the current group together, or something along those lines, in preparation for the Euros in 2015.
At the moment I think that's a good idea until Berahino really shows the sort of form that takes him above that level.
One of the complaints about the under 21's is that a lot of the key players have been called up to the senior side and then not gone to the tournaments. In some cases I think it's understandable, but for what would be fourth choice striker I don't think it's worth doing just yet, especially being the main man for the under 21's.
I'd expect Berahino's minutes per goal ratio to improve as he gets older.
What was Rooney's minutes per goal ratio like when he was the same age?

Not playing in a struggling team either, unlike berahino

16 and 21 are the same age.

Never going to be a fair comparison because one has played six games the other a full season. And when Berahino's strike rate inevitably falls below Rooney's it'll still be an unfair comparison because he plays for West Brom and Rooney played for the European champions.
But I've watched both play and it's obvious Rooney is a more clinical striker.
Maybe in the future Berahino can become more clinical than him but not at the moment.
Not that it matters it he was because he'd still be behind him, Sturridge and Welbeck for England, which was my initial point.
Berahino needs to keep his feet on the ground, in my opinion. Next international break will be a better way of judging his England credentials.
Plus Welbeck needs these games to get some goal scoring confidence.
If berahino played for a "big" club, no doubt he'd be in the England squad by now

I doubt it, he wouldn't be playing.
Hopefully he kicks on after a good start. He had good start to the season last season and was tipped for England and then went off the boil.
I know what you mean, RAP, but the Euros are ages away so he has plenty of time to stake a claim.
Walcott is an interesting one actually. Sterling and Sturridge's rise to prominence in the England team have put his place under threat, especially if we look to continue with the diamond.
Walcott is crap for England anyway, even though he's one of the best English players in the league, so I don't think he should be in the first team anyway. Maybe he could play up front in the diamond? I don't know. Will be interesting to see how he fits in when all our attackers are available.
Is a 32 year old liverpool substitute a better option?
Anyway, from an Albion point of view I'm happy if he isn't called up, and just stays under the radar for us
Hard to say until Berahino plays for England.
I just think for the moment it'd be best for the player to concentrate on the under 21's and playing for West Brom.
I think being called up to the squad for two games he might not even play in would be an unnecessary distraction at the moment. Do you not agree?
Congratulations on your win at the weekend, by the way. Burnley don't concede many so it's an impressive win.
Think you'll be a tough game for us and the scousers, you usually are. Hopefully you'll tire yourselves out a bit when you win at Anfield again before we play you.
