As a gooner i personally cannt belive he got booked for that. it was a nothing celebration that almost ever player has done.

Its coming to a point where u cant even celebrate a goal without getting a booking.

- Cant take ur shirt off
- Cant go into the crowd
- Cant even hold ur hand to ur ear when scoring an away goal.

Gerrard's was to his own fans as he'd been getting stick in the last few games apparently.

Chadli's was to the Arsenal fans.

Neither a booking of of course

That ref had a mare on Saturday, no question about it. Throwing around yellow cards like confetti although there were a few admittedly (Mason's comes to mind) that were deserved.

As ridiculous a yellow card as it was, don't think we can blame the ref - those are the rules unfortunately.

Football is becoming a contactless sport where your not even allowed to celebrate a goal it's a joke

He didn't celebrate his goal though, he was gesturing to the fans. That goes down as an attempt to incite the crowd which is a bookable offence. Not that I really give a fack what he did, you should be allowed to do that stuff imo but by the letter of the law he had to be booked, deal with it.

Bats it not like he did an adebayor was it now. simply holding a hand to your ear after scoring is not inciting the fans.

It thats allowed then you might as well ban the away team from scoring a goal as that will defo incite the home fans.

yes he should off by the letter of the law and would of been sent off as he was on a yellow already

The amount of times i have seen Arsenal players do that at the Lane over the years, shocking ref who could not wait to get his cards out.

It would be boring though if all matches were refereed to the letter of the law. It's about the ref's interpretation of the laws, some seem to have good and bad days in that respect.

I doubt you'd find any game where the officials and players agreed on every decision.

Didn't Walcott do something similar when he was being carried off on the stretcher?

Slippy G was booked for a bad foul, he should have had a second yellow for inciting the fans, typically he got away with it.

Rules are rules, shame the rules are not wholly adhered to at grounds like Klanfield and Old Trafford.

Do you mean like the time Gary Neville found himself up on an FA charge for celebrating in front of the Liverpool fans?

But you just carry on making things up, there's a good lad.

For what it's worth, the booking was a disgrace. There's no letter of the law in that respect, and it's a subjective decision from the ref - one that he made an absolute hash of.

Do we want robots running around the pitch, with no emotion?

He hardly did it in their faces, did he.

Awful refereeing.

Celebrations – leaving the playing area
the below is the Fa guidelines:

A player MUST be cautioned when:

In the opinion of the Referee, he makes gestures which are provocative, derisory or inflammatory

He climbs onto a perimeter fence or goes into the crowd to celebrate a goal being scored If he is guilty of

excessive time-wasting while celebrating a goal

So the first point is where Chadli comes in as in the Ref opinion he was being provocative towards the rival fans!

What I don't get is why the OX didn't get booked for point 2!!

So Chadli's booking was wrong and shouldn't have happened, yet Gerrard should've been booked for his celebration.

Make your minds up Sp-u-dlets.

I think none should of been a booking but if one does then the other should too!

All this means is your Ref on Saturday was the better One
