Milner deserves his place, based on his current form. Townsend really baffles me. Lambert is in there mainly because he offers something different to the other forwards. Berahino could possibly have been worth a place though.

I meant it baffles me just in terms of how poor he is. The media should not in any way be influencing squad selection but this is Woy we're talking about

Agree re Milner as his form of late has been excellent. His versatility also a benefit.
Not sure what Townsend and Lambert have done however to merit selection.
good to see Gibbs in the squad. better than Baines defensively imo.
Milner would be one of the first I picked for an England squad. Far better than people give him credit for.
Milner is better than Wilshere tbh
Not much options in the way of CB is there?
There's a dearth of talent there.
Good to see Clyne in there. On current form the best English RB in the league.
Glad to see Delph get a call.
Strikes me as strange that we only have 3 strikers
Milk&BlackSpiders
James Milner aged 28 – winger/midfielder/full back – 50 caps.
Jack Wilshere aged 22 – central midfielder – 22 caps.
Not really sure why you have attempted to compare the two, as both offer completely different options to England, and consequently hard to draw parallels.
Why isn't Wayne Routledge or Nathan Dyer in the England squad. Ok, so neither of them are world beaters but surely they have done more at club level than Milner or Townsend?
England have such dross midfielders
When people are saying they're happy with Milner's inclusion, where do you see him playing? Central or wide?
Nathan dyer should be given a go ahead of Townsend
I think Townsend has been picked because of San Marino.
Perhaps Hodgson feels that a kick and run player uis just what we need.
Clyne at last!
Best RB last season, means stones will get a game at CB in his best position.

I wouldn't say Johnson is crappy, just no longer te best RB in contention for England. He is still better than Walker. Clyne was the form RB and never got to go, hope he makes the most of this chance and Roy plays Stones at CB and not out of position keeping Clyne out
