His previous methods have not worked and he has to try out something new bse we cant continue doing the same thing and expect different results.

If the new approach fails no one will blame him bse its better than being predictable.

We don't want to concede 2 goals in the first 5 mins. I hope the Hull game would be the last to see this.
we don't want to give away goals from set pieces. We dont want Alexis to be marking Terry during corners. The team has to work harder anyone who is not ready to put in shift should opt out. Coquelyn should be given a chance.

I wouldn't even attempt to "Sit back" with this team. It's not strong enough defensively. Ok so they may not get hammered but it's a definite loss. Much as I don't want them to get battered, I have no wish to see them go to Stamford Bridge with a "We can't win, just don't get hammered" mentality.

The only chance of a draw or possibly even better is to start fast and get the first goal. We need to score first and early. We have to force Chelsea into an open game. We know Jose is just going to park the bus and hit on the counter, it's all he ever does playing Arsenal and any other team that can play good football for that matter.

As with any other game with this team, all depends on which team we have arrive at the game. If we get the one that's on point, making few mistakes. We can certainly get a draw. If we get the "Half of em don't turn up and the other half have their minds elsewhere" team, then we're getting hammered no matter what tactics Wenger uses.

Just keep it tight for the forst 25-30 mins and then see how it goes. We cant let it be 2-0 after 15 mins otherwise it will be another mauling.

Don't think anyone has suggested that?

Playing on the counter against a stronger side in better form in their own back yard is not cowardice, it's just good sense.

Midfield sits deep for opening 15-20 minutes and slowly gets more and more adventurous as the game gets on.

As long as we persist with our amusing interpretation of zonal marking on set-pieces, and keep getting exposed on the counter, we're in for a VERY difficult time on Sunday. We have a chance (as do Burnley), but it's a slim one.

I've no faith in Wenger when it comes to thr big boys anymore. Dortmund away and City at home pretty much summed it up. Both full backs bombing on at the same fking time, consistently getting caught out and yet still no change.

We're honestly lucky Spurs are so crap, or they would have done us a couple of times on the counter too. Honestly dreading what Fabregas and Costa will do if we take our usual approach.

And then of course there's Flamini. You can't account for how bad he is. Oh wait, yiu can. But the club flopped there too.

We're the underdogs. I like being the underdog.

Not sure if tactics will do anything here. We bascially have to play the game we are best at, and everyone has to be at the races and start strong aka how we were against city first half hour or how we were against bayern at home before pen miss. The key will be to score during this good strong start period. Its obviously dangerous because Maureen will set his team up anticipating that we will go all out at the start. They will sit back and soak it all up and try to counter. However if we do score early then I could see us scoring again soon after like Gala as the pace we have on counter is simply devestating, and the home fans will encourage their team to come at us.

It is absolutely crucial we score first ( i really think we will tbh, even put money on it) If they score first its pretty much game over. Thats when our discipine starts going and everyone starts bombing forward like children at the playground. I would blame that on the fact the squad is young, and our game is based on Wenger giving the players a lot of freedom to express themselves- obviously this backfires when our players have the freedom to all charge forward.

I actually think in general we are good at defending a lead. Especially now with the likes of Sanchez and Welbz willing to put in a shift so we can defend from the front. We just need to keep compact, disciplined and in formation. Pressing would be a disaster as that means gaps open up and Cesc thrives. Also they have too much pace and tricky all over the pitch to trust our players to press them

Rosciky needs to come on for Wilshere in the 70th min as he is brilliant and nicking the ball and starting counter attacks.

I may be the only one here but Im really confident we can get a result. ive been right about most results this season, including dropping points at home to spurs. Every man and his dog said we would smash them and inevitably they were fired up and we were complacent. I can see similar happening on sunday. I also think Chelsea arent as amazing as everyone makes them out to be, they are just a team in form and as is inevitable in football, form can end at any time.

Seeing the negativity that I have seen on here in the past week. You would think that you lot support Accrington Stanley.

It's unbelievable how a few terrible results last season have messed up your minds. Chelsea are not a machine. Obviously it will be hard to win, but I don't see Arsenal getting hammered.

Bullsht.

We did it last season away to both Dortmund and Munich.

Sit back, keep it tight, everyone knows their own roles and works for the team, bodies on the line and then hit them hard on the break with Sanchez, Ox and Welbeck.

Bring Ozil, Cazorla and Rosicky off the bench on 70 minutes and push on to get a winner/equaliser.

Simples.

I don't want to sound alarmist, but against Everton this season we conceded 2 very early goals and also against Spurs and Man City we let in 2 stupid goals where we were counter attacked after a silly mistake.

Nothing has really changed in the last 10 years now in regards to these types of things happening.
