Jimmy for me as well. Couldn't give a damn if we go down, but let's see our promising youngsters given a chance, build for next season.
The fans will be supportive so long as they can see light at the end of the tunnel.

What are jimmy phillips actual credentials for the job? Get tony pulis in.

I'm with benny, JP is not the answer. Can't see Pulis coming though, he could easily sit and wait for a PL vacancy. No harm asking though

McDermott, Hughton, Grayson and Hierro (alright thT last one ain't happening!) would be my shortlist

Morning RiD and commisserations/congrats to you and your fellow trotters depending on their views of DF.

Surely you need Billy Davies?

JP knows the club, knows the players both senior and youth. And probably just as importantly he is already contracted to the club so him taking over actually decreases expenditure further.

Can't hurt to let him have a run in charge and if it's not working bring someone else in and allow him to go back to running the academy.

----------------------------------------------------------------------I'd bring back bloody Megson rather than that, Peeder@

RiD, best you keep that protest on the back-burner - just in case !

Good luck guys, hope things have improved for you by the time you visit the iPro in Feb.

Here is a report from the BBC.

Dougie Freedman: Bolton Wanderers manager leaves club

Bolton Wanderers manager Dougie Freedman has left the Championship CLUB by mutual consent.
The 40-year-old joined from Crystal Palace in October 2012 and they missed out on the play-offs on goal difference in his first season.
Wanderers finished 14th last term, but have won just once in 10 league games so far and sit second bottom.
After his last game in charge at home, Freedman admitted the job was proving more difficult than he expected.
Recent Bolton managers
Sam Allardyce
October 1999 - April 2007
Sammy Lee
April 2007 - October 2007
Gary Megson
October 2007 - December 2009
Owen Coyle
January 2010 - October 2012
Dougie Freedman
October 2012 - October 2014
"Dougie has worked tirelessly off the field to improve the infrastructure of the football CLUB," said Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside.
"Unfortunately recent results on the pitch have not reflected all his work off it.
"The club has faced a difficult time following our relegation from the Premier League, and Dougie has helped to restructure the club in order for it to become successful again under ever-tightening constraints.
"I would like to thank Dougie PERSONALLY for all his commitment and efforts for Bolton Wanderers."
BBC Radio Manchester's Bolton reporter Jack Dearden
"I think it was inevitable given the recent results. It has been a dreadful start to the season. Phil Gartside has come in for a lot of criticism recently and his track record of appointing managers since Sam Allardyce has been poor. The supporters are unhappy with an awful lot of things with the way the club is being run."
Freedman replaced Owen Coyle who was sacked after Bolton had a disappointing start to their first campaign following relegation from the Premier League.
Former Scotland international striker Freedman has had to trim the wage bill at the Macron Stadium after Bolton's 11-year stay in the top FLIGHTended, and last year they announced their debts were up to £163.8m.
During last month's home defeat by Derby, chants of 'Freedman out' and 'Gartside out' were directed at the manager and chairman from some supporters.

It has to be good news for everyone except DF. He was clearly out of his depth.

Will the protest still go ahead on Saturday? We still have to get rid of Gartside.

Jimmy Phillips's credentials for the job? That he's already employed by the club (1) we don't have to persuade him to come and (2) it's only a pay rise and not a full new salary

Tony Pulis would rather poo in his hands and clap

On another note, how did everyone hear the news?

Personally I was out in the warehouse at work and one of the lads in the office announced it to me over the tannoy! Had to run in to the office and check it wasn't just a cruel joke!!!

posted on 3/10/14

I heard the news after catching up on my "crisis" thread to see how it was going. This thread title alerted me to check news now just to be sure.

Some people in Asda got the tannoy treatment as well some of which hadn't got a clue who this freedman geezer was.

Fullarton and hughes in charge for tomorrows game not jimmy phillips! Tony Mowbray in the frame for the job according to sky sports.

posted on 3/10/14

I completely agree with Benny. I am not for throwing the job at Jimmy Phillips. We have tried inexperience in Dougie. Phillips will have no LSL or Darby. He would have to win quite a few games for me to be convinced. What impact has he had in his current role?
Browny for me.

Love to see Phil Brown in the frame .... I reckon that won't happen though, if PG is still at the helm. Anyone closely connected with BSA will be a no-no for Gartside ....

Just heard tha DF has left the reebok, mixed feelings as Garty is still there, bring on Jimmy Philips!!!

If only he had left 'the reebok', we probably would be better off now

If he'd never arrived at ' The Reebok ' we probably would be better off now!

Fullarton highly regarded as a coach and from what I've heard reports wise runs the U21s with an iron fist.

They're DF's men though ...will be cleared out soon as a new manager' appointed

posted on 3/10/14

I'm not so sure of that First, for one thing Fullarton has been left in the cold by DF for quite a while now. Just look how many "exciting prospect" players got chucked out of the door without ever getting out of the development squad.

As to JP, well, I was under the impression that he didn't want the job. Didn't he say after Coyle left that he didn't want to be the manager full time?

Its actually the goalkeeping coach turner and hughes who take over tomorrow.

Kevin davies said he might be interested on bbc gmr radio.

Oh please no!
