Why? He achieved nothing here whereas lampard is a true Chelsea legend. 3 time PL winner, CL winner and lots of other cups. Your all time top goal scorer too? He deserves respect. Cesc doesn't

Lampard left because he was past his peak and Chelsea didn't want him anymore. Fabregas left because he wanted bigger and better things. Different circumstances IMO.

Maybe better off pointing to United fans treatment of Ronaldo as an example for Arsenal fans to follow.

and I hope Cissy shows them the same respect Frank always did West Ham

Cesc did win an FA cup and if I am not mistaken other than the FA cup last season I believe that was the last time you won something. also former captain and left in very good terms with the club.

also your club rejected the chance to sign him back so yeah why should you show him any respect

He hardly played played am important role in us winning the FA cup. He was about 17 and was covering for injuries. When he became an important player and had the team built around him what did he acheive?

It's true though. Everyone labels Ozil a flop but statisticly Ozil has very similar stats as Cesc did for us.

“@SkySportsNewsHQ: Here is how the Arsenal careers of Cesc Fabregas and Mesut Ozil compare http://t.co/S3CA3oYybS”

Goals
about 1 in 6 for Cesc
About 1 in 5 for Ozil

Assists
About 1 in 3 for both players

Win rate
59% for Cesc
58% for Ozil

posted on 4/10/14

So what you are saying now is Wengie is a specialist in Failure

posted on 4/10/14

Those stats would only have any value if it applied to both players playing for Arsenal at the same time.

I could publish Fabregas stats since he has played for Chelsea and they would be equally irrelevant.....

No this article has nothing to do with Wenger. Cesc deserves no more respect from us than the likes of Adebayor, Wiltord, Cygan, Van Brockhurst etc. He was just another player. Not a club legend like lampard was for you

I'd love to continue debating with you but have a busy day ahead and need to head to the mosque.

Well given that your fans are so much classier than ours I am sure they will be able to rise above it

I highly doubt they'll applaud him if he scores

No. He left when we needed him most, so dont agree with that.

as for the ronaldo comparison, he's playing for Madrid not one of your biggest rivals. If cesc was still at barca and we played them he wouldve got an amazing reception. As he's at chelsea he will get booed off the park

Arsenal players are used to that

Plus we boo our own players and team, what do you expect us to do to rivals?

While I agree Cesc isn't exactly the same status for us as Lampard was for you, he wanted to come back and Arsene wouldn't have him. If he came back and added a few more exceptional years to the 8 he already gave, he could have been.

All in all, its down to Arsene he's at Chelsea so I don't see why anyone should have any bad feeling towards Cesc. It pains me to see him playing so well in the Premiership and not for us, but like I said, Arsenes call.

I hope he gets a good reception, nothing spectacular being asked for but just some respect back for the 8 years he gave us. Hopefully he acts as gracefully as Lampard did too

Loads of fans on here and everywhere accepted his move back to barca and the only issue they had was the way Barca went about business.

Do you think we would boo Modric or Bale if we played Real?

posted on 4/10/14

We should show the same respect to Cesc as Chelsea did to Lampard?
You mean the player who got the vital goal to deny Chelsea a big 3 points over their main rival?
Cheer on an opposition player, boosting his confidence so that he negatively affects our own team...
That sounds a good idea...
