Some favourable results for us today, but we need to capitalise on them tomorrow. Surprised we're still above Derby for one thing... I thought they were going to thrash Millwall?

1-0 tomorrow will do for me. Last minute OG off Chambers' backside.

Hoping for more than a 1-0 win though (to get some more prediction league points for one )and think we should be looking to break the barren spell by playing positively- starting Fryatt and Britt should do it.

I'd agree Fryatt has to start tomorrow and we have to be positive.

I think I would play a conventional 4-4-2. Burke - Lansbury - Tesche - Antonio in midfield; Fryatt and Britt up front. Burke and Antonio have to stay as high as possible and make their full backs defend Trust the back four to defend, and get forward as quickly as possible,.

I'd go 4-3-3. Same players as above but set up differently.

We'll be playing against McGoldrick and Sammon tomorrow so one of them is bound to score.

Yeah McGoaldrought will be desperate to score against us after the way we treated him

Hopefully our defence can continue their good record and Britt and Fryatt cam make it count.

Glad Fryatt is back as he is a quality player who hopefully can allow Brit to get going as well

"after the way we treated him"

Do you mean the fans or the club, because I remember him getting all sorts of abuse from the fans. If I was him I'd be busting a gut tomorrow.

We treated him like anybody else with a record of eight goals in 60 odd games ...... thanks for coming, tartar.

posted on 4/10/14

Yes some of the fans used him as a scapegoat ..... admitted.

I really hope I am wrong but I get a feeling it's all set up for us to lose. I think a loss has been coming and tomorrow we might get it. I have supported forest to long and we always seem to take the hard route! And with so many ex players on the pitch, one of them is bound to nick a goal!

Hope I am wrong though. And even if we lose we won't lose much ground so it will still have been a great start.

Ipswitch have only won one on the road, I think McCarthys still playing for draws away from home.

We'll need some serious attacking venom. 442/443 with fryatt and Antonio on the wings and hopefully Reid will be back for the central play maker role.

A win and it's been a very good weekend. Even a draw would be a bad result.

RAE, I have that same feeling unfortunately.

I can't wait for the 4-4-3 formation monkey, hopefully the ref will not notice the extra player

Plus why are some people being pessimistic, we are at home and have Fryatt back so I am hoping for a win.

Darlow, Jara, Halford, Collins(c), Fox, Greening, Peltier, Osborn, Majewski, Paterson, Mackie

That was the team which played Ipswich at home last year

psychos a tactical genius!

McCarthy would never expect it!

I like the idea of 442 and think that Pearce should be looking to attack Ipswich with pace. Chambers always has a mistake in him and I would like to see Antonio and Hunt really taking the game to him down that flank. Wilson and McGoldrick are old friends from their County days. That is looking like an intriguing contest.

The players should be chomping at the bit after seeing how the results have favoured them today.

I know exactly what you mean.
However, we are a very different animal this season. I don't think we would've picked up half the number of points last year (and for a few years before that tbh!) as we have this season.
Our defenders are literally putting their faces in the way of shots to keep a clean sheet. The level of determination and professionalism on show is amazing. Exactly what you'd expect with psycho at the helm.

Is it a tuff game? Yes.
But as a defensive unit we're as hard as coffin nails.

Look at it the other way. We haven't scored in 3 league games. Somebody is due a battering

And we wondered why we struggled at times last season!!!
Look at our squad now. Most of those lads (with all due respect!!!) wouldn't / don't get on the bench now!!

After Ramdini's thread about how many more posts Derby got on match threads, I donned a radiation suit and skimmed through their match thread for today's game. Before kick off the 'champions elect' boast was repeated.

I'd suggest that they get so many posts because four or five posters who don't go to games rabbit incessantly. (If they're at the ground they can't see much of the game as they're constantly typing). Not a great read.

But I should take this opportunity to congratulate them for getting one shot on target in a goalless draw against Millwall. After giving us stick for a goalless draw AWAY to Millwall.

Note that Watford were held at home by Brighton (as we were last weekend). Wolves held at home by Wigan - our recent draws don't look quite so bad. As for Norwich... another reminder that there are few easy games in this division.

So I won't even try to predict tomorrow's score. As it should be, it's all up for grabs and could go either way. If Fryatt starts though, I'd hope we come out on top.

Yes part_time, totally agree. Nothing is easy in this paper/scissors/stones of a league - as a few of the other 6 six found out yesterday.

Good luck all. Let's hope the Reds can pull something out of the bag.

I've got this funny feeling that the big bloke........ N'ah, forget it.

Ipswich fans are playing up the fact they haven't spent a bean on transfers in a while compared to the Reds. Think their team will be one of the toughest Forest have come up against so far. Very much in McCarthy's image. Going to be a few cards dished out in this one, I think. Hope we can keep out calm heads and take advantage of set pieces a bit more (Lansbury!).
