we'll do that in January if its all the same to you

The only difficult game you've had was against City. That's the only fixture that stops your opening games being described as easy.
............................................................................

I'm not sure about that. We've played three of last season's top six, two of those away, I wouldn't say that's easy.

That said, we all play the same games twice, it may help having a better start but it shouldn't have much of an impact come May.

TOOR this easy run thing is nonsense. Every team is very competitive, it seems with all this new money to stay in premier league teams at the bottom and midtable have strengthened and brought in world class players. You look at the squad west ham utd have now a long with west brom and Leicester even QPR and think how is it possible to have those players.

posted on 5/10/14

It will be you trotting out the excuses after you play those teams I mentioned.
.............................

I guess at least you realise you are making excuses, progress TOOR!

Maybe these midtable fans aren't all that bad really....

...............................................
SAF,

I was just asking you if we were 'mouthy' last season?

You said it was always the mid-table clubs? So we weren't last year right?

Utd on the other-hand
............................................

I think it takes more than just one year out, Chelsea were still a top club despite having a terrible season and finishing 6th.

Liverpool finished outside of midtable for the first time in years but you would expect them to at least repeat the feat before we start declaring they've moved on from being a midtable club...

TBH Liverpool fans would be mouthy wherever their team is, its just part of who they are.

TOOR we had basically 9-10 injuries just as the season started, I think we used 31 players this season No continuity at all.

posted on 5/10/14

My bad its 30 players:
Never mind the quality, feel the depth

Striker James Wilson became the 30th player to represent Manchester United in the Premier League this season when he came on for Radamel Falcao in the 73rd minute.

United have used more players in only two previous Premier League seasons. In 2011-12 they used 31 and three seasons previously they deployed 33 players.

Well I'd say no game is an easy game in the Premier League but I'll ask again because you seem to have not answered again. You've had an easy run, in comparison to Liverpool and Everton, no?

--------------------------------------

Easier than Everton, as they have had to play Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and ourselves.

You have played City. Other than that your fixture list has been as 'easy' as ours.

posted on 5/10/14

Thats just the premierleague, imagine if they included the capital one cup players Most of our reserve side have played a lot of games.

............................................................................

I'd say the same about Utd fans if it's all the same.

Or fans in general, especially of clubs that consider themselves to be pretty big.

posted on 5/10/14

All clubs have fans that can be mouthy but Liverpools do particularly stand out, possibly because they think far more of themselves than other people do...

posted on 5/10/14

So TOOR, why when looking at to teams in comparison in regard to opposition do you go quiet?

Would you then say that Everton have had a tough set of opening fixtures?

Chelsea, Liverpool, arsenal and United all within the first 10 games.

This is classic idiocy? No easy games in the Premier League.......but you have had an easier run?? WTF

I don't go quiet. I asked the question, he answered. I don't agree but there you go. Did I not already say Everton have had a tough set? I used them in comparison so I'm sure that implies it.

They'll just keep making excuses...

They had a player injured!

A first choice player injured!

If they didn't have such bad luck with injuries compared to teams like United and Arsenal they would probably be top of the league!

I know this is difficult for you but whilst there are no easy games, there are still easier games than others. The easiest games don't make them easy games, ask United fans about that, they've seen it this season.

Everton very unlucky today - the better side on the day lost.

De Gea's saves were good but not brilliant - they were all savable heights and places. Everton might kick themselves for putting it too close to him that many times. Credit though, you'd expect one of them to sneak in some how with the gluttony of chances.

I thought De Gea was outstanding. World Class in fact.

Most Everton fans thought they were awful for most of the game bar last 10 minutes. Man utd were by far the better team. We could and should have been out of sight, first 50 minutes we could have scored 6 or 7 if we could finish.

Might I ask who though?

Is it those that screech down the phone on football phone-ins or dare I say those that use faceless football forums?

I dont dispute we have mouthy fans, plenty at that but I dont see it being much different to others. That's just my opinion though & if others agree with you then I could be wrong.

If we do 'stand out', it certainly won't be for most of the reds I know personally thats for sure.

We do like to dabble in a history lesson once in a while though

Fine lines this game sometimes. Di Maria was key for Utd but Everton were unlucky to come up against De Gea who made 3 or 4 excellent saves as well as a penalty. Osman made a huge difference I thought and Naismith looked good again but I do think it says a lot that they have come back from Russia and gone to Old Trafford and the home side could easily have let in 2,3,4 goals. Lots of work for most sides in the league at the moment to be honest. The fact Liverpool could be two points off second bar a worldy from Jags says a lot really considering our form and fixtures.

So no easy games, but United have had easier games??

You both played WHU and Everton, how did those games pan out in comparison?

Yes.

Differently.

Are you trying to say something? Would it not just be easier to say it? Would certainly save a lot of time.

Calling Everton unlucky but declaring De Gea's saves as easy(ish) sounds a bit too much like having your cake and eating it TKT.....

De Gea was quality for us, but penalty save aside most of his good work came near the end.

can't agree TOOR

no doubt he was very good but in general I think people get the spectaclularness of keeper saves wrong a lot, especially when the keeper dives or it's a chance the attacking player really should bury.

more often then not, they're shots you'd expect the keeper to make the save and the dive makes it look brilliant and/or the attacking player puts it a half a foot too close to them.

De Gea is a world class shot stopper, I've seen him make plenty that made me say "f%£!7ing hell, that was ace"

can't pick out any like that today. just very good keeping and he kept his focus despite numerous chances.

De gea has done well last 2 games but has been missing for the rest of the season.
