Arguably.
Lambert is head and shoulders above Sanchez in every department. He can even speak better Spanish better than him.
As a Barça fan, I am mortified that we have lost both Sanchez and Cesc. I believe that Pep bought Cesc to first rotate with Xavi and Iniesta and eventually replace Xavi. However, once he had left, Cesc was pushed up to play as a central striker, or left forward - and although he did a better job than most forwards do in those positions, he is clearly a midfielder!
I believe Cesc is, after Xavi, the most naturally gifted midfielder, his positioning, his vision and his ability are wonderful - and if he can do it in a league as fast and physical as the premier league he can do it anywhere.
Alexis was also treated miserably by Barça. He was our best player last year but we do not allow our young players time and patience to settle. He was made a scapegoat far too often.
I am disgusted and dismayed at how our current and previous chairman lack the class which made us a respected team. You can understand managers criticising players but the chairmen should never be heard imo.
A not on Ozil - he is a good player but he struggles with both the physical nature of the game and when he does not have time and space. Even when playing for Madrid, a team where he did not have to run and recover the ball, he was rarely able to finish matches. His stats showed that after the 59th minute, he gave very little to the team.

What you cannot do, however, is underestimate the impact Sanchez has had on that Arsenal team.
-------------------------
They've only won 2 games so far, one against a managerless Palace and the other against a Villa team struggling with a virus.
Not sure what impact, if any, Sanchez has had on Arsenal at the moment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They look infinitely better than they did last season and actually have goals throughout the team now. Don't forget, they've already played City, Chelsea and Spurs and if I remember correctly, United aside, they have a relatively easy run of games now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
On what basis have you come up with the opinion they are "infinitely better". If you speak to the majority of Arsenal fans they'd probably say that they are a much of a muchness compared to last season; they have the same problems they've had year after year for the best part of the last decade.

Ozil is actually more gifted than Cesc, but Cesc's personality just blows him out of the water.

Those stats are wrong, Sanchez gets dispossessed 2.3 times a game.
Also turnovers (whatever that means):
Di maria: 0.6 per game
Sanchez: 2.6 per game
Xiu, forgive me if I'm mistaking you with another user, but weren't you unhappy with Cesc at Barça?

Stats are from last season.
Fantasy football minutes to points so far:
Di Maria 405 minutes played and 43 points.
Sanchez 421 minutes played and 25 points.
As fantasy football points are the best indicator of player performance, Di Maria >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sanchez.

Wow I'm a little slow this afternoon
Why are we even mentioning last season though? Shouldn't we just compare how they've been so far in the Premier League? They've probably played a similar amount of games
Sanchez = 2 goals and 1 assist from 6 games.
Di Maria = 3 goals and 3 assists from 5 games.
We all know who has made the better start.
Isle of Manc that stats from last season were just to help give an overview of the players, there hasnt really been enough of this season yet to compare stats properly. I was asking for general opinions on how they have settled and predicitons for the rest of the season

Nobody needs stats to see that Di Maria has outshined Sanchez, just watch the games.
Di Maria is the better player, but using three assists from mis-hit shots to support your argument is not the right way to do it.

Very true.
Shows he's affecting play. And the one to Mata I maintain was a pass.
No contest. Di Maria all day long over Sanchez. Sanchez is a good player mind you
