You're going to pay those two players a combined what, 200k per week and allow them to rest for a third of the season? Amazing.
--------------------------
And whats the alternative? Having them out for months with injury?

Wages should not dictate whether a player gets on the field if he is out of form or not in optimum condition.

Thats the whole point of rotation.

There is a huge gap between being cautious with players and resting them for third of the season.

I am not suggesting resting them for a third of the season. Thats what I meant for Mert as a 3rd choice CB. Just not have them as first choice starters. You are doing exactly the same thing by continually playing them, having them injured and then 'resting them' while they recover from injury for weeks. I suppose insurance picks up some of the wages.

Why not blame Wenger? For almost 10 years now we have been getting injury after injury to key players. Who's fault is it of not Wenger?

Hes the one who puts on the training plans, picks the team and the plays the same core players until one of them snaps.

Ozil was known to fade in games after 70mins at Real and the subbed him off. At Arsenal hes playing game after game 90 mins twice a week and hes now injured again for another 3 months just like last season.

I ask again who's fault is that?

All u Muppets that defend Wenger are faking blind bats who will do anything to defend the past it fool.

Please please can you play Rosicky in Ozil's place..

Thanks ...

But you're not guaranteed them to be injured, which is what you seem to be saying.
-----------------------

No what I am saying is that you do guarantee them to be off form. I believe as Wenger has himself said that if the lack form is because the player is not physically optimum then you are risking injury. This is what he has referred to as the 'red zone'.

Most managers believe in rotation so as not to tire the players through the season. And these players did not have a pre-season. To be honest I don't think you can have a pre-season when the season has begun so easing them into the matches for 3 or 4 months would have been the next best thing. Almost you like you when a player recovers from injury to get them match fit.

When does anyone ease a player in over three of four months when recovering from an injury? It's more like three or four weeks.

Long term injury. Don't be so literal.

You said it was like when players are eased in when recovering from injury. Well it's nothing like it because that doesn't happen.

May-Aug is abt 3 months of which a month is a holiday and 2 months pre-season. Because of the world cup if you give the same 3 months from Aug-Oct, you start playing players as first choice in Nov. That is what I said above. If you can understand the gist of the discussion I was having with Greatteamswinit4times you can understand these things are not literal. In fact also vary from player to player.

If you want to wum go ahead. I won't be responding.

Ok, so it's nothing like a player recovering from injury then. Thought as much.

I think you overstate the importance of all that other stuff anyway. Lots of other players at the world cup haven't needed to be eased in over three or four months. Why do Ozil and Mertesacker need to?

Jenius99, you are a fool.

Half the players on the big teams played in the World Cup and none of them are being "eased in over 3-4 months"

Don't worry all the players will be back to full fitness in the new year just in time of us being out of all competitions and then we can go on our unbeaten run again until this time next year. Ho hum.
