sandy. because when players move from simply potential, to top class forwards, they also move out of reach for spurs to attain.

either because we cannot afford the fees, or more likely because bigger clubs who pay bigger wages will be interested, and snap up the deal

a berahino type is exactly the kind of signing that spurs should be making, and actually often those type of signings work out better for us then when we try to sign the finished article.

Sandy it's not that there's anything wrong with Kane, it's that we have two other strikers who are shiiit. We need to bring in more quality in this area.

ade is better than kane though, so you have just contradicted yourself spurtle.

Chronic it doesn't look like he's much better at the moment, so how is it a contradiction?

Surely we can all agree that collectively our strikers are good enough and better is required?

are *not good enough ffs

so you think kane is a better striker than ade?

kane isn't even an out and out striker though…..

and it is a contradiction because you are saying that kane is good enough, but striker (s) who are currently better players than kane are not good enough……

ade is in poor form (goal scoring wise) at the moment, but he is playing in the prem - against much better sides than kane is currently playing against in the europa league and capital one cup.

at the moment kane is coming along nicely exactly how we are using him, so why change that? he will get his chance eventually, as will soldado

As I say at the moment, yes. Kane looks hungrier, and probably has more confidence regardless of opposition. He can only get better at a young age. Can Ade improve on what we've already seen of him in his Spurs career? Doubtful given his age and his history of going from one good season to a bad one, and repeat.

We need better than Ade, that much is obvious, and have done for while. If we can't get anything more out of Soldado then the same goes.

Agreed

Soldado needs to go on loan, unless we can find someone to pay good money for him. Ade will hang around till his contract's up I suppose.

Bales

If we don't play Soldado in a 2 up front formation, or try him maybe in a deeper role, to try and make him more effective, then I agree send him on loan.

Ideally I'd want to sell Ade and bring in 2 new strikers but that's not going to happen.

I still say give Kane a go, he works hard, and scores goals, not sure why he isn`t being shoved into the first XI given Spurs woeful strike force. He has come on in leaps and bounds last couple of seasons. Given a run of games he will score plenty I am convinced about that.

but he isn't an out an out striker. so who are you dropping to play him?

posted on 12/10/14

Probably Ade, Soldado got dropped for not scoring last year, so why should Ade be picked for not scoring goals. He gets paid to score, and he isn`t. May work, may not, but certainly worth a try. Ade should not be undroppable like certain members of the England team have been the past decade.

Hyper inflated? Welbeck and Balotelli went for less than 20m. Considering how early it is in his career anything round that is inflated enough!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Milan had to sell Balotelli though, and Man Utd no longer needed Welbeck so that's not entirely relevant. We on the hand don't have to sell. It's a seller's market. Hence he wouldn't leave for anything less than £20m.

Unless you get relegated then he'll be available for around £10m in the summer

The fact he is English, his current performance, age + potential, means you are going to pay a premium for such a player.

You cannot escape that.

I'd say given those players are experienced internationals there's not going to be much in it. We won't pay top whack and the teams above us have already got their strikers.. how about a swap with Lennon?

You're West Brom, you'd accept 15 million quickly

Ttliv - I think that's what Hengy was saying. The grammar has thrown you!

Insert a semi colon or something after the word 'relegated' - and I think that's how Hengy intended it.

Yes most of the top clubs are sorted up front anyway. That's why I don't think he will leave (yet). Its only Spurs really who are desperate for a forward and I don't know whether you would pay over the top prices for him.

Oh and Lennon...er no thanks. We'll just have the money

4-4-2, tell him to hug the touchline and play the ball into space.

Unfortunately we just don't play that game anymore.

The same way Eriksen would not work in a 4-4-2 as one of the central midfielders.

or Chadli as a winger in a 4-4-2

Poch doesn't believe in 4-4-2 so guess that's the end of Lennon's effectiveness
