"Prefer the bundesliga go there and watch a game"
Judging by that BBC new article today, plenty are doing exactly that.

I'm off the opinion of if you don't like it don't buy it
Prefer the bundesliga go there and watch a game
A lot of people do like it, not me I hasten to add, but cannot afford it. To tell them to go to another country to watch football is absolutely ridiculous.

With that mentality nothing would ever evolve or change for the better
Bundesliga is fantastic. I've been to 4 games over the last couple of seasons and don't think I've paid over €25 for a ticket (with free public transport), had a beer during the games, enjoyed a cracking atmosphere and seen the likes of Bayern and Schalke.
I don't know how they do it, but it is a great model. But as I said I find English prices reasonable up against comparable entertainment
Each year I am one of the Tutors for the Social enterprise and Cooperative International summer schools at Sheffield Hallam (next year York) One of the exercises we do is to compare the way that Barcelona and Manchester united are run. The difference between the prices for season tickets is starling. The clue is in the ownership, the club owned by the fans acts in the interests of the fans. I dont know what can be done to change the situation in the UK. Although a Spurs fan I also became an early supporter of United of Manchester just because I wanted to back ordinary fans of whatever club. Perhaps there should be legislation to force clubs to have more fan ownership - some of the season ticket money could be converted into shares,

It's been bothering me too, I think the crux of the issue is safe standing. You get a load of cheaper tickets, a better atmosphere, and more genuine fans that will not only help the team on match day but spend money. I have to commute, a £50 ticket isn't reasonable for me, it's a treat.
Anyway, I found this:http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/feb/07/government-discuss-safe-standing-elite-football
And this.. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/feb/13/premier-league-standing-ban-stadiums-football-league-aston-villa-rail-seat
It seems to me the Premier League fears another Hillsborough, they like the health and safety tv-friendly league the way it is.. even though 19/20 clubs are behind the idea.
