Hugo, great times! Also around the same era, first match was Derby v Man City at the BBG in December 1971 during the Division 1 championship year. Fantastic game and we battered City being 3-O up at half-time ending up as 3-1 victors. I remember the match distinctly for the brilliant football, the totally fantastic atmosphere at the BBG and also for the kind old gentleman who gave me a nuthall's minto at half-time. Happy days indeed!

Wow Lobororam what a memory you've got, I don't actually recall a lot from that first game only that I was hooked from that moment on.

October 21st 1961 I was 9. Rams2 Liverpool 0. Bill Curry scored and got carried off. Someone who became a good friend of mine,Mick Hopkinson got the other,my mum had a hairdressers on Belper market place and used to cut his hair on Saturday mornings. I watched the second half from on top of the wall that seperated the Normo end from the Popside after a policeman took pity on me. 53 years later,a season ticket holder I travel from Edinburgh still following the dream.

I was a young man who enjoyed that game. What a brilliant dead ball man was Hinton. And could shoot too. Hard and accurate, King Kev and Big Roger.
