Hazard...Number 6 in the world

He's a great player, but not in the top 10 in my honest opinion.

Messi, Ronaldo, obviously.

In terms of attackers on, for me : Suarez, Ibra, Neymar, James Rodriguez, Bale, Ribery and Robben are probably all genuinely better.

Aside from that, there's no one else better. He so silky on the ball but needs to become more effective and lethal going forward. He's 24 in a few months so this season and next are really crucial for him.

He's technically IMO better than Bale but Bale just has that raw power.

So are Di Maria and Reus, Chris.

Hazard is a brilliant player, though.

Will be interesting to see how his season pans out. Wouldn't surprise me if many would have Fabregas and Costa ahead of him by the time Chelsea have won the title.

I was thinking more out and out attackers hence why I didn't think of the likes of Fabregas and Yaya etc. Costa will score far more, obviously, but in terms of how good of a footballer they both are, I'd say Hazard is better.

Not sure about Reus. Dortmund have built their team around him and the German league is easier than the PL - ask Podolski, Kagawa, Sahin and so on. Close though.

Di Maria, you're probably right, though it's close.

Ibrahimovic is overrated, Goes missing in the big CL games for PSG, Bendtner would hit double figures in the French league.

That may be, but you've got Ribery above him and Reus is definitely better than Ribery - I'd argue Hazard has overtaken Ribery as well, though it's hard to judge as he's been having injury problems.

Reus has been class in the CL as well and just looks a more potent threat to me than Hazard.

Hope he comes to the prem so we can give a better comparison.

Fair point on Cesc, Toure and Costa.

Messi, Ronaldo, Neymar, Suarez, Zlatan, Busquets, Robben, Bale, Ozil, Ramsey and Jenkinson all better.

Not sure about that at all Darren. A lot comes down to the team.

Look at Gotze, looked utter class for Dortmund, another Messi in the making, and yet at Bayern he hasn't really looked anything other than another cog in the machine.

posted on 16/10/14

But Ribery also benefits from the same thing with Bayern. Gotze has started this season well, by all accounts.

And Reus has proven himself outside of Dortmund anyway. Seems a bit unfair to disregard his obvious talent and performances based on those factors.

That can be levelled at many players, something many were saying about the brilliant Barca and Spain players.

Chavy you killin me, ibrahimovic is over rated!!!!!!!!!!!

Bendtner would hit double figures in the french league!

Pure quality alls forgiven dude!

Reus is terrific. He would be amazing in PL, got the skill set to blossom here.
As for Hazard, he's turning out to be a lot like Iniesta...as in statistically he isn't great but is crucial to Chelsea.
There are many wingers I would take Hazard mainly due to their productivity. Wouldn't even be in my top 5 wingers let alone 6th best in world.

To be clear, I think Reus is a quality, quality player. Would love him at Arsenal. Always suspected he might come to us, too.

Think he'd be on or around Hazard's level in the PL, though, which is certainly nothing to sniff at

Is that Mirror article genuine? Does he really put himself ahead of Suarez and Neymar?

posted on 17/10/14

Yeah that's fair, Chris. Though I doubt he'll end up at Arsenal. Bigger and richer clubs will be after his services. Madrid are the sort of caaants to sign him even though they don't need him.

posted on 17/10/14

Farka, I honestly think Zlatan is a tad over hyped of course he is a brilliant player but has he done it in the best leagues? No, Has he won the champions league? No, Does he stand out in the big CL games or just against teams like Anderlehct and Bayer Leverkusen?

posted on 17/10/14

The comments on here just show how underrated Hazard actually is, it's borderline criminal!!!!

posted on 17/10/14

Nah not over rated imo,, agreed he may perform in patches, but he is quality .

He may not have won the C/L, but he as won more than most players.

He always performs for Sweden.

posted on 17/10/14

Yeah, probably true Darren. His release clause of £35m activates in the summer, doesn't it? Will almost certainly move if so

Agree Kings, went off and just came back to this article and even though I am a harsh critic on hazard, a few of these guys must not see many 90 minutes that hazard plays.
I think neymar is supremely overrated and likepeople have mentioned ribery may be a fading star.
As for Reus he has genuinely impressed me for years now.
Hopefully hazard can prove himself this year as I believe he is the best winger in the league. But can he be the best player. He has imo been our best player this year with matic and costa.

No I take that back Costa has.
Or fab
Or matic

Anyways he's been good!

Seems like it's almost fashionable to slate Ibra at times.

World class striker, with a superb goal record wherever he's been. Even when Barca were ridiculously playing him out wide he still got a 1 in 2 return I think.

In terms of out and out strikers, probably only Suarez is genuinely better

posted on 17/10/14

The comparison of Hazard to Iniesta's role is probably quite accurate. Think he has 2 goals & 2 assists so far this season, about 13 apps. That's Charlie Adam level, but he's actually been really good imo

completely agree. What zlatan does for sweden is near enough miraculous

I believe so. You reckon you will? I mean what with all the attacking options you've got will Wenger go and spend £35m on him? Then there's the wages he could command.

Wenger is a hard one to judge in the market, though.

2 goals and 2 assists in 10 games aswell as freeing up space for costa. I think Eden has more pace then iniesta and feel he can improve on his return too.

Iniesta was a fantastic player though, if he reaches his level id be happy
