Totally agree it's a great opportunity to test our squad against a form team of the Championship, and I'm confident we can beat Bournemouth if they want to play their football. They're playing some good stuff at the moment.

Managed to sort a ticket thanks to the good grace of a STH. My office has around 9 AFCB supporters unsurprisingly and for very selfish reasons need a win. They are on top form and am fairly sure Eddie Howe will keep the spine of yesterday's team for Tuesday night. In which case we need to be on their case from the first minute, they start so quickly. We'll see how much of a priority the competition is for AI at around 7-15 I think when the team is announced

I think Al will be targeting the League Cup this season.

Hi Bournemouth - bearing in mind AI will probably change at least 9 if not all 11 players from Saturday what are the chances of getting a result against a clearly resurgent team at the moment?
Gamboa, Ideye and Blanco - this is your chance to stake your claims for first team inclusion.

B'mouth have a big decision to make as well. Do they concentrate on climbing the league and 'rest' some 1st teamers?...or do they go for it and risk it?

Either way, this is going to be a tough one.

I know. I miss the old 'I missed the results today....' wums

Last seen begging Wolves not to rip into Blues after this coming weekend.

I've got an ominous feeling about tonight.

We're playing away against a team who are only a few league places below us and who've just hammered another team 8-0. Add to that the fact that we'll make wholesale changes and i'd say it's probably fair to consider them as favourites.

We'll do well to go through!

Bookies have them as favorites.

This will depend on just HOW many changes Alan makes. If we are serious then there won't be many and probably not 11 like v's Hull.

I'm hoping Al will keep the changes down to a sensible minimum and bear in mind we've another big game coming up on Saturday. Bournemouth will find our defence a completely different proposition to Birmingham City's, so I'm hopeful we can keep the score down to five or six.

Congratulations to Bournemouth, they deserve to go through. A night of late results, Liverpool squeaking home with an 86th minute equaliser and the winner on 90+4, Chelsea going through at Shrewsbury with an own goal on 81, Sheffield United getting an equaliser on 87 mins and the winner on 90+3. Armchair fan Igor confirms that Premier League wannabes Derby put five past the second-worst defence in the Championship at Craven Cottage, and I'm presuming the Barcelona of the Championship Wolves got through as well but I haven't seen their result yet.

At least Al's come out and said that some of our squad players didn't take the chance to impress, and José Mourinho said exactly the same thing about his squad players too, although at least they got the right result.
It's disappointing that our squad players proved incapable, but hey ho. Good luck to Eddie Howe and Bournemouth, not only in the League Cup but in the Championship as well.
While I'm at it, I might as well congratulate Derby on what was a cracking win and turnaround at Fulham.
Still waiting for the Wolves result though.

Who knocked out Wolves (the Barcelona of the Championship)? I can't remember.
Was it another Championship club or a Premier League club?
