Good fit for Everton, not for a top 4 side

So if we finish 4th this year will it still be a good fit?

We were worked hard by a determined Burnley that stopped our passing game through sheer effort.

But a win and a few goals will do for me, these were the type of games we would slip up in before

We saw today that this effin Europa League is a tiring Thursday day out. Burnley are not PL standard (with all due respect), we scored early and should have put it to bed easily. Instead we look shaky and nervous. Of course class told in the end, but against (almost) anyone else today, we would have struggled. Onwards and upwards, but playing twice per week is a problem. Can we cope? Time will tell.

Well if we can't manage the EL an a little trip to Northern France then how will we manage if we make CL?

I think we'll cope fine if we ever do qualify for the champions league, the extra revenue would allow us to expand the current squad. Also worth bearing in mind that we have two key players out (stones and Mirallas) and are still coping fine with Thursday - Sunday

Let's get there first. But squads (not teams) win trophies.

My point is, that players like Osman, Pienaar, Barry, Distin, Eto'o and even Jags can't be expected to play 180 mins of top-level football every week.Yes, we have options but tbh,we have actually been lucky with (only two) injuries and no suspensions - it doesn't get easier!

Alcaraz was a rock today

Didn't see today's game, due to being in bed ( working nights not lazy lol). It's a game we would expect to win imo but wins help bread confidence and I think we have been lacking confidence lately.

Cant play 180 mins of football a week?
But Terry, Lampard, Hazard......oh I could go on are able to play two games a week

I don't think we've been lucky with injuries, Barkley Oviedo Kone (is he alive) Coleman Pienaar have all also been out this season

You can add Stones and Mirallas to that group also

We have had some back luck with long/medium term injuries

As I said didn't see today's game, even if he played well it will take more than 2 performances against 2 of the worst teams in the league to convince me. Although to be honest nothing gives me more pleasure than an everton player I don't rate proving me wrong

Well he will never get to show you how well he plays if you cant get yourself out of your stink pit

Absolute quality and always plays with a smile on his face. So glad he chose Everton.

Said he turned down more money elsewhere and came to us for footballing reasons. That says all you need to know about the guy.

I had reservations when the signing was announced, but see the great value in it now.

I've just looked at the league,we're joint third (with City) in the scoring charts, but are joint first when it comes to conceding goals. If we could tighten up at the back,we may have a good season. Southampton have scored 20 and conceded a mere 5,they're looking impressive at the moment (altho the 8 goals against Sunderland distorts the picture slightly).

Wonderful football at times yesterday but to be honest and with respect Burnleys inexperience showed. Lukaku made a mistake for their goal but the pass through for Ings also showed up Barry's lack of pace.

Barry might not be the fastest but he had a great game. He covered a lot of ground.
