I don't think that Townsend has been awful, I would play him instead of Lamela for now. At least he has the pace to take his man on and is more direct and can get past the opposition defence. Qualities that all our front players lack.

Nah, Townsend is plain garbage. Lamela is at least a very rough diamond

Lamela has to be persevered with. He has more talent than Townsend and Lennon isn't going to improve at this stage.

Lets be realistic. We aren't going to get top four. So why not give Lamela that chance to develop an iron out his faults. How is he going to improve if we drop him.

Btw re Townsend while i do not think he's great I think he would of been useful vs Newcastle for last 15 mins!

Funny how both of Townsend goals and assists in recent times for Spurs have been by accident. His goal against villa last season was a cross that went in and his assist for soldado this season was a shot that fell to soldado. He really is s. Hite ain't he

I don't particularly rate him highly in fact I'd like two new wingers but ATM he's our player and I think he could be used better!

Lamela needs time to progress, that's all. No one should be writing him off so early. This really is his first proper season to shine. Yeah his performances have been hit n miss. But he's already had 3 assists in the league, despite not scoring.

Let the man develop into a better player before we write him off. A certain Welshman started off as our jinx player and was well written off by many, before he came good. And I ain't talking about the legend that is Chris Gunther
