I agree but I don't think the club see it that way unfortunately. Having Hazard would still solve creativity and width and bring goals to the side - Modric wouldn't do that on the latter one.
We are NOT intrested in him and he doesn't want to leave. If i see one more lets get Hazard or see him in someone's team without a playmaker in it

Ok, reasons we shouldn't get Hazard :
- even if Modric falls away, the creativity in the centre of middle MUST be addressed before buying the luxury of an attacking player whose happiest with a free role.
- Much like Pastore, Hazard has a price and the 27mil being touted as the starting fee before any negotiations is already pushing it. How Mata can be 4mil less fixed fee i can't understand.
- People sometimes use the argument that the experienced players push the young propsects aside. My personal opinion, buying a player who directly rivals Sturridge in age for such a commanding fee is more galling. That does such a lack of faith.
- In a 4-3-3, which AVB seems intent on shaping his tactics around. Hazard would have to be on the wing, which combined with Mata would result in having a selection between Hazard, Mata, Malouda, Kalou, Anelka and Sturridge ..... with non practically getting a shot at playing central because of Torres, Drogba and Lukaku.
- To my knowledge, he's no CL proven yet which shouldn't give Lille the right to demand such money until next season, least Neymar has reached the pinnacle on his continent.
- Other targets in the market represent greater value for money, especially for us and the problem we need addressing.
