The repetition was not intended as an emphasis but as an amendment to offer an olive branch to all those moaning managers!

I hope you are not implying Hound that as we are "inconsistent" we are no worse than the other 17 that you see as being in the category. All 24 teams are "inconsistent" to a greater or lesser degree, but that does not make them all equal, because "inconsistent" is a relative term.

In the context of manager interviews it is used to imply that the team have shown they are capable of winning, but that they should be winning more. No manager would use it to complain that a long ("consistent" ) losing sequence had been broken by a win!

Well it depends on how you look at it.
If we were to win just one of our games in hand we would be in the top half of the table.
This would indicate to me that we are less inconsistent than the teams below us as they would have fewer points.
It would also indicate that we are more inconsistent than the teams above us who have more points.
We would therefore be averagely inconsistent when compared to the other teams in our division.
Therefore donaldo, i have not implied that we are no worse than the other 17 teams in my 18 team suggestion, only that we are no worse than some of them.
Have i made myself clear?

Youth team strikers Liam Mandeville and Jack McKay to be added to squad this weekend.

NI boss Michael O'Neill will apparently allow Luke McCullough to make a quick trip back to Doncaster from Romania to play

DRFC have signed Enda Stevens on loan.

Sam Johnstone has NOT been called up for England U21's and should be fit to face Sheffield United.

Always look on the bright side of life!!!!

Good news Alex, especially that about Enda, good to have him back.

He is a better left back than Evina by some distance.
Good news about McCullough and Johnstone.

On the youngsters going into the squad for the weekend, i hope PD puts a strong side out to win the game first and then lets the lads have a go rather than the other way round.

Alex: Enda looked a more reliable defender than most when I saw him vs QPR, so he is a plus.

I was going to post a comment that possibly the reason for not pressing for more postponements was because the number was in danger of getting out of hand plus the fact that PD has said it does not help good momentum. But it sounds like it was a good outcome in the end.

Thanks Hound: Although I do not entirely agree with your reasoning I do agree with your final statement, so we can leave it there without me boring everyone to death (again!)

On the club site, PD says he will put out a strong side for two reasons, (1) the integrity of the Cup, and (2) for the money a cup run can generate which will go back into the playing budget.

Well at least we enjoyed the keyboard verbal donaldo.
I think zigger is still trying to work out what we were on about though.

I'd really like to see the young players actually given at least 45 minutes in the first team and Weston would be a good place to get at least one of them that chance and they would not feel overawed on a ground like that..It could well be the thing that could persuade Mckay to stay here for a while, because he will find himself just another small fish in a large pond when he gets to a PL club and a first team chance will be a long way away..

The game on the telly tonight will give us a flavour of the first round.
If there is to be a shock then i hope Exeter are on the wrong end of it rather than us.
I am looking forward to watching the game tonight as i remember playing an FA Vase game at Warrington in the early 80's.
Happy days.
