PREMIER LEAGUE - always a challenge

Good post but I think the slump in form has alarmed us and many pundits alike. We flattered to deceive against United and Arsenal, playing on the counter.

When you play counter-attacking football, you are not imposing your own philosophy and playing style, you are looking to benefit from the oppositions mistakes.

Having to play the so called 'lesser teams' has actually given us a better view of how premiership this team is. When the onus is on us to create chances and score, we haven't been able to. This has gone on for 5 games.

Pearson must address this sooner rather than later

Blackstarr on the face of it you could have a point.
Very few teams however can effectively dominate with 11 players defending in depth.
The only way goals are generally scored in my opinion is by counter attack or set pieces.
Few are scored knocking the ball about 20 times or so and having a pointless shot or passing to the opposition.
We have to find a way of pulling out a defensive teams and getting behind them.
Or we can find ways to stop this happening when they attack.
We seem a little nieve with life in the prem at the moment. We can achieve enough points to stay in the prem with this team and a revised method of play.

BS Do you think we have a playing style as such? I thought yesterday after 5 mins we were playing like strangers.

heisenburg- I would hate to play Villa next week 6 loses on the bounce. Burnley had not scored in a goal in how many hours? Two against us and Newcastle could not buy a game. Now four in a row (guess who was the first?)

On this I would not rather play anyone but the Saints next week because we being Leicester might win! Lol

It can't come as a massive surprise to anyone. You simply cannot expect virtually the exact same team as last year to be able to step up week in week out

Because however much many if our players get slated, the core of the side is premier league proven, and has kept grinding out these kind of results for the past 5 years

You need to try and scrape together as many points as you can up until Xmas, and then use the January window very wisely
